JEE Mains 2026 Result LIVE: NTA JEE results releasing today, check marking scheme here
JEE Mains 2026 Result LIVE: National Testing Agency(NTA) has released JEE Mains Result 2026 for Session 2 on April 20, 2026. Candidates who have appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Session 2 can check the results on the official website of NTA JEE at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The results for Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) have been announced today.
The JEE Mains Session 2 exam was held on April 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, 2026, in computer-based test mode. The examination was held at approximately 566 centres across 304 cities in India and 14 cities abroad, with around 11.23 lakh candidates appearing.
For Paper I, approximately 11.06 lakh candidates registered, and 54,953 candidates registered for Paper 2.

JEE Mains 2026 Result LIVE: How is NTA score calculated?
NTA Scores are normalized scores across multi-shift papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one shift. The marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each shift of examinees. NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained. The NTA Score of a Candidate has been calculated as follows:

JEE Mains 2026 Result LIVE: What is the the tie-breaking order?
When two or more candidates end up with the same total NTA percentile score, NTA applies a step-by-step tie-breaking formula to determine the higher rank. The first criterion is the higher percentile in Mathematics. If that too is equal, the Physics percentile is compared. If the tie remains, Chemistry percentile is used. If all three subject percentiles are identical, the candidate who is older in age gets the better rank.

JEE Mains 2026 Result LIVE: How bonus marks work when a question is dropped
When NTA drops a question from the final answer key — as it has done for two Physics questions from the April 4 Shift 1 paper — all candidates from that particular shift automatically receive full marks for those questions. For MCQ questions, full marks are awarded to every candidate in the shift regardless of whether they attempted the question. For numerical value-type questions, +4 marks are credited to all candidates in that shift. The result due today incorporates these bonus marks.

The result of JEE Main 2026 of the candidates who indulge in Unfair Means Practices will be cancelled and will not be declared. Similarly, the result of those candidates who appear from the Centre other than the one allotted to them or allow another candidate/person to write the examination on his behalf will be cancelled. Any candidate who appears in a Session more than once will lead to cancellation of his/ her candidature and will be debarred as per relevant UFM clause. No plea will be entertained in this regard, NTA said.
