The Dodgers will have their hands full against Yankees ace Gerrit Cole in Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium, but will need more from their offense to get the one win they need to complete their championship quest.
It’s the usual group, with the only switch from Game 4 that Tommy Edman is now hitting seventh, swapping spots with new No. 9 hitter Gavin Lux.

Max Muncy bats fifth again for the Dodgers, looking for his first hit of the World Series. He’s walked twice and was hit by a pitch, but is otherwise 0-for-12 with eight strikeouts during the Fall Classic. That includes three strikeouts and a walk in Game 3.
Since setting a record by reaching base in 12 consecutive plate appearances during the NLCS, Muncy is 0-for-18 with 11 strikeouts, though has also reached base seven times by walk or hit by pitch in those last six games (plus one at-bat).
Overall this postseason, Muncy is hitting .178/.403/.400 with a 138 wRC+. He’s just 8-for-45 but his 14 walks — the second-most in any Dodgers postseason, behind only Muncy himself in 2020 — and three times hit by a pitch fueling his high on-base percentage.
Muncy has three home runs and a double this October, but his last extra-base hit was a home run in Game 3 of the NLCS, going 29 PA since without. He struck out and popped out against Cole in Game 1.
Same lineup for the Yankees as in Game 4, with Jazz Chisholm Jr. batting cleanup in between Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
