There’s a long way to go in the 2024 season but Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears is a big one for both teams – and it could have playoff implications in the wild-card race down the road. Both teams are 1-2 and would love to avoid falling two games below .500 after only four weeks.
The Rams are on the road for the third time in four weeks, visiting Soldier Field for the first time since they were dismantled by the Bears in 2018 – a game Sean McVay still calls “very humbling” to this day. The Bears have dropped each of their last two games after stealing one from the Titans in Week 1 so things have gone south in recent weeks.
Who wins on Sunday? Below is our prediction for this NFC matchup.
The Rams vs. Bears game starts at 1 p.m. ET and can be seen on FOX.

Rams vs. Bears prediction
The Bears have the advantage in a few key categories in this game, including their receiving corps, secondary and linebackers. However, the Rams have the edge where it matters most: at quarterback and on the sidelines. Their combination of Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay is miles ahead of Matt Eberflus and Caleb Williams, which could make all the difference in Chicago today.
If the Rams take care of the football and don’t give the Bears short fields to work with, they should be able to build a lead too big for Chicago’s struggling offense to overcome. Through three weeks, the Bears don’t have a touchdown drive longer than 70 yards and they have just three offensive touchdowns all year.
It’s paramount that the Rams force Chicago to go the length of the field to earn points because if that’s the case all game long, the Bears will struggle to score.
With Stafford’s experience and the Bears’ terrible ground game, the Rams can win this game with a lead or coming from behind because Chicago doesn’t have the rushing attack to bleed the clock if it does build a lead.
Prediction: Rams 20, Bears 17
