Feel like going out for coffee today? Peets and Starbucks also have special deals this weekend. Starbucks is continuing their recent “Saturday” promos, sure (2 drinks of any kind for $10, or 4 for $20 on Saturday). But Peets Coffee is in full swing, inviting patrons to enjoy a free small coffee on the house on September 29, actual National Coffee Day, as well they are extending a sweet treat to their Rewards Members of a free upsize of their favorite drinks. Nice!
And for anyone who might be looking to try a non-caffeine containing Coffee Alternative beverage, Trader Joe’s is, ironically (or wonderfully strategically?), debuting their Organic Roasted Herbal Tea, a tea-bag style tissaine containing organic roasted carob, barley, chicory, figs, and other good stuff. I’ve tasted it and can honestly say that, once allowing the bag to steep at least five minutes, it is a nice coffee-like product to be enjoyed at any time of day without worry of sleep loss- black or fancied with creamers and sweeteners, hot or cold- if one wants to switch things up a bit.
Stay tuned as well for National “Coffee With a Cop” Day, too, taking place at various locations from 8am to 10:00am on Wednesday, October 2nd. National Coffee With a Cop Day began in 2016 as part of National Community Policing Week and aims to build bridges between community and law enforcement.
