What shop will open up next to Bob’s Burgers this week? Federal Prints? Jail House Hunters? Jay Johnston, comedian and former voice actor for Jimmy Pesto on Bob’s Burgers, has been sentenced to 1 year and a day in federal prison after pleading guilty to his involvement in the January 6 Capitol Riots, reports NBC News. “Since his indictment in July 2023, the government has persistently overstated Mr. Johnston’s participation at the Capitol that day: because he is an acclaimed Hollywood actor, and the government is using his status to make a point to the public,“ Johnston’s attorney Stanley Woodward wrote in a sentencing memo on October 25. Johnston was arrested in June 2023 for felony obstruction of officers during civil disorder and several misdemeanors. He was filmed with a stolen riot police shield and, alongside another group of riots, pushed a police officer who guarded the entrance to the Capitol building. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to interfering with police officers, and he was ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution.
