Eagles vs. Bengals Game Recap | October 27, 2024

It’s Sunday and the Eagles are back in action looking to pick up win No. 5 against the Bengals.

Cincinnati enters the game with a record of 3-4, but have won three out of their last four games. Philadelphia is coming off of back-to-back wins against the Browns and Giants.

  • The Bengals received the ball first, putting together a methodical drive down the field that lasted more than half of the first quarter. Joe Burrow completed his first eight passes in a row to begin the game.
  • The Bengals opened up the scoring on their first drive as Burrow found Ja’Marr Chase in the end zone for a 2-yard catch. The drive went for 17 plays for 70 yards in 10:04 of game time. (Bengals 7 – Eagles 0)
  • The Eagles got into Bengals’ territory on their first drive with Hurts having a few nice rushes for 13 yards.
  • FIELD GOAL! Jake Elliott knocked through a 39-yard field goal to put the Eagles on the board with 14:10 on the clock in the new quarter. Hurts tried to find A.J. Brown in the end zone on 3rd-and-15 but was unsuccessful as the ball went out of bounds. (Bengals 7 – Eagles 3)
  • Sack! Nolan Smith and Milton Williams got in the backfield to put the pressure on Burrow and come down with a sack to push the Bengals back 12 yards to the Bengals’ 46. Smith and Williams split the sack together.
  • After Cooper DeJean nearly got his first career interception, Burrow scrambled out on the following play, hitting Mike Gesicki for a gain of 24 yards on 3rd-and-22.
  • The Eagles defense was able to hold the Bengals to a 27-yard field goal from Evan McPherson after Darius Slay broke up a touchdown pass intended for Jermaine Burton. Bengals 10 – Eagles 3)
  • The Eagles converted on a 4th-and-1 tush-push from their own 39-yard line to keep their driving going with 8:49 remaining in the quarter. Lane Johnson went down with an injury and Jack Driscoll came in for him with 7:40 remaining. Johnson would come back in after sitting out for one play.
  • With 5:08 remaining in the half, McPherson missed a 54-yard field goal try to give the ball back to the Eagles at their own 36-yard line. The kick went wide left, keeping it a one possession game.
  • TOUCHDOWN! After review, Hurts broke the plane on a 3rd-and-goal tush-push. The call originally ruled Hurts was short, but on the replay it showed his second effort push was enough and the ball made it to the end zone. The touchdown for Hurts put him ahead of Wilbert Montgomery for second all-time in rushing touchdowns in Eagles history (46) (Eagles 10 – Bengals 10)
