Manchester United comes off a disappointing Premier League season and is 1-1 thus far in July friendlies with a 1-0 setback to Norwegian Eliteserien’s Rosenborg and a 2-0 victory over Rangers of the Scottish Premiership. ManU went 18-6-14 in the Premier League season and finished eighth in the final standings with 60 points.

Arsenal battled Manchester City to the end and ended up second-best in the Premier League with its 28-5-5 record and 89 points. Two additional draws for City made the difference, but Arsenal put up a game fight all season long. For ManCity, the win was its fourth straight Premier League title and the third consecutive occasion where Arsenal finished as a runner-up.
