The Badgers look to rebound when they head to Iowa City for a matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Iowa routed Northwestern, 40-14, on Saturday to improve to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten.
Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
10:31 pm CT October 26, 2024
First downs: Penn State 22, Wisconsin 16
Total yards: Penn State 419, Wisconsin 298
Passing yards: Penn State 246, Wisconsin 217
Rushing yards: Penn State 173, Wisconsin 81
Third down: Penn State 8 of 14, Wisconsin 7 of 18
Turnovers: Penn State 1, Wisconsin 1
Time of possession: Penn State 34:31, Wisconsin 25.29
10:21 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin quarterback Braedyn Locke struggled connecting with his receivers for much of the game. He completed 22 of 42 passes (52.4%) for 217 yards and one back-breaking interception that was returned for a touchdown.
Will Pauling had a team-high eight receptions for 79 yards. Vinny Anthony II had seven catches for 68 yards.
The Badgers run game was suffocated by one of the Big Ten’s best rushing defenses. Tawee Walker had 22 carries for 59 yards, his lowest total since the Badgers’ loss to USC a month ago. Wisconsin’s 81 rushing yards was over 100 yards fewer than its season average of 194 per game.
10:09 pm CT October 26, 2024
Penn State’s quarterbacks gave Wisconsin’s defense problems.
Drew Allar completed 14 of 18 passes (77.8%) for 148 yards and one touchdown in the first half before exiting after halftime with a knee injury that he suffered on a sack on Penn State’s final possession of the second quarter.
Beau Pribula relieved Allar and was terrific in leading two touchdown drives to put the game away. He finished 11 of 13 passing for 98 yards and one touchdown and converted several key third downs in the second half.
Seven Nittany Lions caught passes. Harrison Wallace III had a team-high 67 yards on five receptions. Tyler Warren had a team-high seven receptions for 46 yards.
Running back Nick Singleton (three receptions for 37 yards) and Khalil Dinkins (two receptions for 18 yards) had the two receiving touchdowns.
Penn State’s running back duo of Kaytron Allen and Singleton were solid in the win. Allen had 11 carries for 86 yards with one touchdown and Singleton added 12 carries for 49 yards.
9:52 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin had a 10-7 lead at halftime, the defense played well most of the night and Will Pauling finished with eight catches for 79 yards, but a monster pick-six thrown by Braedyn Locke completely turned the tide, and the No. 3 team in the country wound up prevailing even with starting quarterback Drew Allar injured for the second half.
The Badgers still haven’t beaten a top-five team since 2010.
FINAL:Penn State 28, Wisconsin 13
9:50 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin got to the Penn State 15-yard line but wound up facing 4th and 9; CJ Williams caught the pass on that snap, but he was just short of the marker at the 6-yard line, and the ball turned back over to Penn State. With 1:02 left on the clock, that’s the ballgame.
Wisconsin will fall to 5-3 on the season and still finds itself in search of a signature win in two years under Luke Fickell. UW now has a difficult test at Iowa next week, followed by No. 1 Oregon back at home after a bye week.
9:43 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin has gotten to the Penn State 36-yard line, and Braedyn Locke just completed a 12-yard pass to Will Pauling to convert on 4th and 6, but not sure Wisconsin has the firepower to score twice here with 2 minutes left on the clock.
Locke is 18 for 36, 199 yards and the interception. He has had a habit of finishing games at 50% completion, which is too low to defeat top-tier Big Ten teams.
9:31 pm CT October 26, 2024
Kaytron Allen had a big hole and ran mostly untouched 24 yards to the pylon for a touchdown that puts Penn State up two scores, and the No. 3 Nittany Lions are going to leave Camp Randall Stadium with a victory. The pick-six ultimately may not matter but feels like the moment everything changed in this game.
Beau Pribula is going to get a lot of credit for this, too. Highly impressive performance from a backup quarterback. It’s a nine-play drive that chewed up 76 yards in 5:15.
PENN STATE 28, WISCONSIN 13, 3:10/4th
9:29 pm CT October 26, 2024
I’m not going to lie to you. This feels over.
Liam Clifford was just wide open for a 21-yard catch downfield for Penn State, despite the fact that the Badgers had a great pass rush and forced Pribula to throw on the run. Clifford, as you might surmise, is the brother of Packers backup quarterback Sean Clifford, who played at Penn State, as well.
Pribula just converted a 3rd and short with a run to the Badgers’ 24-yard line, and the clock is ticking to 3:30 and under. Not sure Wisconsin can pull this out, even down only a score for now.
The defense seems a little gassed, and the offense couldn’t do enough against an elite defense like this one.
9:22 pm CT October 26, 2024
Tawee Walker now has 21 carries for 48 yards, and though he’s gutted out some tough yards and has a touchdown today, the running game isn’t getting it done against Penn State.
Braedyn Locke is off target with another third down and medium-long pass and is now passing 14 for 28 in the game, with that crippling interception. Wisconsin is in trouble.
Bertrams’ punt isn’t great but it rolls nicely to the Penn State 24-yard line. The defense, which has been asked to do a lot and just endured a long drive, is right back on the field with 8:41 to play and Wisconsin down 8 points.
9:16 pm CT October 26, 2024
Penn State marches down the field and gets into the end zone, and the Badgers find themselves down by 8 points with 10 minutes left to play in this game. Khalil Dinkins caught a pass on a 3rd and goal snap from the 1-yard line, wide open for a pitch-and-catch from backup quarterback Beau Pribula.
Credit Pribula, who marched the team down the field. The Nittany Lions tried a pair of Wildcat plays for tight end Tyler Warren, and he brought it down to the doorstep but couldn’t get in. The Nittany Lions felt comfortable giving Pribula the opportunity to pass on short yardage, and he delivered. He finished the drive 5 for 5 passing for 47 yards and also ran for 17 yards.
The pick-six really changed this game.
PENN STATE 21, WISCONSIN 13, 10:01/4th
9:06 pm CT October 26, 2024
Backup quarterback Beau Pribula is now in the role of trying to maintain a precarious lead for Penn State, and he’s doing fairly well on this most recent drive, taking the ball across midfield as the third quarter comes to an end.
Penn State has a 2nd and 2 at the UW 48-yard line. I presume most of the students about to participate in the Jump Around ritual will still be here for the duration of the game, contrary to the custom of everyone clearing out.
The Badgers haven’t been in any games this year that come down to the final possession. This one might.
END THIRD QUARTER:Penn State 14, Wisconsin 13
8:59 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin surges down the field but meets heavy Penn State resistance in the red zone, and they have to settle for a Nathanial Vakos kick from 32 yards away. It’s good, but Wisconsin still trails by a point.
Braedyn Locke threw one of his best passes at Wisconsin, a 33-yard pass down the sideline to C.J. Williams out of a no-huddle snap, and that put Wisconsin into the red zone. That pass came one snap after Wisconsin converted on third and six thanks to another 11-yard pickup from Vinny Anthony.
But UW gained 3 yards over the next three snaps and had to put the ball at the feet of Vakos, who makes it a 1-point game with still plenty of time for more. It’s an eight-play drive worth 51 yards and 3:39 time of possession.
PENN STATE 14, WISCONSIN 13, 2:44/3rd
8:53 pm CT October 26, 2024
Oh no, Wisconsin.
Braedyn Locke hadn’t thrown many interception-worthy passes today, which has been one of his bug-a-boos in recent games. But he just threw one at the worst time.
On 3rd and 14 deep in Wisconsin’s own territory, Locke threw a ball that Penn State’s Jaylen Reed snatched easily, and he returned it 19 yards for a touchdown to re-take the lead with just less than 7 minutes to go in the third quarter. The air just left the building at Camp Randall Stadium.
Locke was under some pressure after dropping back into the end zone and just tossed it over the middle right to the white jersey.
PENN STATE 14, WISCONSIN 10, 6:29/3rd
8:48 pm CT October 26, 2024
Beau Pribula made a great play to move around, take a big hit but still deliver a good pass down to a running back nearby, but Kaytron Allen was still shy of the sticks on 3rd and long. Wisconsin receives the punt and will start at its own 12-yard line with 7:52 to go in the third quarter. And they have momentum.
But what they don’t have is enough points to feel secure.
Fun fact: Penn State quarterbacks coach Danny O’Brien is the same Danny O’Brien who played for Wisconsin in the 2012 season after transferring from Maryland. Fans will remember his arrival did not go as well as the previous year’s transfer quarterback (Russell Wilson), and he was soon benched in favor of Joel Stave.
8:40 pm CT October 26, 2024
Bradeyn Locke was off target on a 3rd and 6 from its own 15, and Atticus Bertrams has to send it away. It’s another good punt, but Penn State does have solid field position at the 36-yard line.
Wisconsin’s offense still has its hands full with Penn State’s defense, but with Allar out, the Badgers’ defense might have just gotten an upper hand.
8:36 pm CT October 26, 2024
Beau Pribula has already demonstrated a mobility that we didn’t necessarily see with Allar, including a pair of rushes up to 11 yards. But he may not be as accurate passing; UW will have to adjust its defensive game plan accordingly, of course.
One could also presume he’s not going to be as comfortable in Penn State’s up-tempo offense. On 4th and 3 from the UW 39-yard line, Penn State moved early, forcing a punt from plus-territory. Camp Randall is alive and kicking tonight, folks.
Penn State barely escaped a third and short with a tight, short pass to Tyler Warren, but a 3rd and 7 from the 43 wound up with just enough.
Wisconsin will take over at its own 11, owning a lead with 11:41 left in the third quarter and Penn State’s starting quarterback on the sideline.
8:30 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wow, big development here. Drew Allar is indeed not checking into the game at the start of the third quarter after he injured his knee late in the first half on a Badgers sack.
It’s backup Beau Pribula, a redshirt sophomore and native Pennsylvanian.
8:24 pm CT October 26, 2024
Something I missed in real time; Penn State quarterback Drew Allar went to the locker room early after the Nittany Lions punted on their last first-half series. Allar got twisted up when Jake Chaney sacked him on that final series. That’s obviously worth monitoring as we get going in the second half.
He’s back out in the second half but has a brace on his knee.
8:17 pm CT October 26, 2024
8:09 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin’s defense has been on point, and though Penn State had one impressive 90-yard drive that it cashed into points, the Badgers have been able to bend and not break. A late Tawee Walker touchdown on offense gave UW a 10-7 lead against No. 3 Penn State.
Looooong way to go, but if you’re going to slay the dragon, that’s the way to do it.
HALFTIME:Wisconsin 10, Penn State 7
8:06 pm CT October 26, 2024
The one thing you simply could not do was let Penn State make the most of that final 1:23 on the clock, knowing the Nittany Lions would get the ball back before halftime.
Allar’s first pass of the drive was an 18-yard completion, but Wisconsin took care of business from there, with a Jake Chaney sack as part of the package and an air-mailed third-down throw that Ricardo Hallman might have had a chance to intercept. But no matter, the ball is back in Wisconsin’s hands at its own 20-yard line, with 38 seconds before halftime and the Badgers ahead, 10-7.
8:02 pm CT October 26, 2024
Tawee Walker took the give on 3rd and 1 and made it around the edge for the touchdown, and Wisconsin has taken the lead late in the second quarter. A great drive by the Badgers that got a little stuck on the doorstep, but it ends well.
Braedyn Locke had Jackson Acker open for a touchdown off an audible, but the pass was high and a little too fast, and then a third-down snap led to a pass intended for … an offensive lineman, J.P. Benzschawel. But that snap was taken knowing Penn State hadn’t gotten a man off the field, and they were flagged for illegal substitution.
That moved the ball a yard closer and set up a 3rd and goal on the 1. And Walker took it from there.
It’s Walker’s 10th rushing touchdown of the season.
WISCONSIN 10, PENN STATE 7, 1:23/2nd
7:58 pm CT October 26, 2024
We’ve had a couple stoppages here, once for a Penn State injury (Dani Dennis-Sutton) and once for a PSU timeout, but the Badgers are in major business on the 3-yard line after a catch by Will Pauling over the middle, good for 28 yards and a first-and-goal opportunity.
The first snap doesn’t work out, resulting in just one yard, but Penn State did use its third and final timeout to try and keep some extra on the clock for a final push before halftime. There’s 1:34 on the clock. The Nittany Lions will get the second-half kickoff.
7:54 pm CT October 26, 2024
A potential big loss in the blocking game for Wisconsin as Riley Nowakowski gets helped to the sideline following another big pickup from Tawee Walker down to the Penn State 31-yard line with 1:53 on the clock. Keep an eye on that one.
7:52 pm CT October 26, 2024
I know it’s the “two-minute time out” and not the two-minute warning, but c’mon, I can’t keep pretending.
Anyway, the Badgers are on the drive and looking solid. It’s 2nd and 6 at the Penn State 43-yard line with the aforementioned 2 minutes before halftime.
Vinny Anthony has been the star of the show for the Badgers. He’s up to four catches for 41 yards, and Will Pauling has a couple plus-pickups on this drive after a slow start.
Can the Badgers cash this in before the break and take the lead at halftime on the No. 3 team in the country?
7:45 pm CT October 26, 2024
UW’s defense may have allowed a 90-yard drive that ended with its second touchdown permission in the past four games, but the Badgers are still getting it done on defense.
Wisconsin just used an early-drive holding penalty against Penn State to its advantage, with Curt Neal and Leon Lowery getting tackles to keep Penn State well behind the sticks, and a third-down pass was short. Wisconsin once again regains possession and has 4:04 to work with, starting at the UW 27-yard line.
Wisconsin needs a big play or two. It feels like Penn State is the better team, but Wisconsin is hanging on and now needs a haymaker to take a halftime lead.
7:36 pm CT October 26, 2024
Braedyn Locke is now 6 of 16 passing for Wisconsin, with a couple ugly tosses in this most recent 3-and-out. Atticus Bertrams again gets the ball to stop just shy of the goal line, but it rolls into the end zone for a touchdback.
Penn State has the ball on its own 20 with 7:49 before half.
7:32 pm CT October 26, 2024
Penn State grabbed an immediate first down but had to punt on 4th and 3 from the PSU 29-yard line.
Nyzier Fourqurean led a group of Badgers tacklers with a sure finish on Kayton Allen in some space along the sideline, keeping Penn State from moving the chains.
It’ll be Wisconsin ball with nice field position at its 37-yard line with 8:36 to go before halftime.
7:26 pm CT October 26, 2024
Trech Kekahuna has a couple drops thus far, including one on this last series that might have kept Wisconsin from getting into a 4th and 2 situation near midfield. It’s another excellent punt from Atticus Bertrams, down to the 8-yard line, but Penn State started at the 10 on the last drive, and that didn’t faze them.
Tawee Walker getting some tough yards thus far, up to 26 on the game on seven rushes, but that includes one where it looked like he was stopped a yard short on third and short, only to keep moving past the chains.
Braedyn Locke just 6 of 14 passing, but that includes at least three drops from his receivers. There’s 11:07 to go before halftime.
7:22 pm CT October 26, 2024
Gotta be honest, it sure didn’t seem like Tucker Ashcraft was guilty of holding there. If anything, the sophomore tight end kind of got run over?
Vinny Anthony had returned the kickoff through a gaping hole all the way down to the Penn State 29-yard line … absolute shades of David Gilreath … but the referee enthusiastically hurled his flag about 25 yards from well behind the play to mark holding. UW fans boo the call, which forces UW to start back at its own 23-yard line.
7:19 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin’s defense really seems to be on its heels against Penn State’s no-huddle pace.
Nick Singleton made an excellent touchdown catch, with one arm available and back-pedaling as Wisconsin safety Hunter Wohler was draped all over him. It was a perfect ball from Allar, now 10 of 11 (and remember, the one miss was a straight-up drop by his receiver) with a touchdown and 119 passing yards.
Penn State takes a lead on the second play of the second quarter, officially a 6-yard touchdown.
That’s a nine play, 90-yard drive that needed just 3:01 to cross the field.
PENN STATE 7, WISCONSIN 3, 14:37/2nd
7:17 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin had the ball twice in the first quarter, scoring a field goal on its first possession and punting on its second. Badgers quarterback Braedyn Locke has yet to find a rhythm.
The Badgers lead 3-0 after one quarter but the Nittany Lions are knocking on the door. Penn State is driving deep in Wisconsin’s territory on its second possession that will continue when the second quarter begins. Quarterback Drew Allar has been very efficient for Penn State.
First downs: Penn State 7, Wisconsin 4
Total yards:Penn State 131, Wisconsin 67
Passing yards: Penn State 113, Wisconsin 29
Rushing yards: Penn State 18, Wisconsin 38
Time of possession:Penn State: 7:28, Wisconsin 7:32
7:14 pm CT October 26, 2024
Nittany Lions star tight end Tyler Warren is such a beast.
First, he takes on essentially two Badgers defenders (practically throws one to the ground) on a 9-yard pass play, then he rumbles 15 yards after a shovel pass. Penn State’s drive began at its own 10-yard line and is now inside UW’s 10-yard line in the blink of an eye.
Penn State quarterback Drew Allar, on the final play of the first quarter, found running back Nick Singleton wide open, and he burrowed down to the 8-yard line. Wisconsin’s defense will be tasked with stopping a first-and-goal setup inside the 10-yard line for Penn State when play resumes.
Allar is crushing it for Penn State. He’s 9 of 10 in the first quarter for 113 yards, and the one miss was a wide-open play that might have been a touchdown, but his receiver straight-up dropped it.
END FIRST QUARTER:Wisconsin 3, Penn State 0
7:06 pm CT October 26, 2024
Will Pauling was open over the middle for a well-designed play-action screamer from Braedyn Locke, but he couldn’t hold on, making it 3rd and 9 for UW at its own 40-yard line. Locke found Trech Kekahuna for the first down on the next play, but he only got the throw off because the Badgers were guilty of holding, a flag on left tackle Jack Nelson.
That made it 3rd and 19 on the 30, and Vinny Anthony made his second catch of the game to get it back to the original line of scrimmage. UW forced to punt with 3:15 to go in the first quarter.
7:01 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin’s defense has allowed just one touchdown in the past three games, but Penn State is a different animal. And yet, UW stiffened up at the right time, with a big break helping the cause.
The Nittany Lions converted on one third down with a pass completion to Julian Fleming and had Fleming wide open on 3rd and 1 at the UW 28-yard line. Drew Allar’s pass was perfect and Fleming might have even had a touchdown, but somehow he dropped the ball.
That prompted PSU to try a 4th and 1 with a short-yardage rush up the gut, but the Badgers stopped it short. It officially goes in the books as a fumble recovery by Nyzier Fourqurean, but the play was blown up either way. UW will take over at the 28, owning a 3-0 lead with 6:07 to go in the first quarter.
6:57 pm CT October 26, 2024
Let’s revisit the big play on Wisconsin’s first drive that allowed for the field goal to even be possible.
The Badgers’ drive appeared to have stalled at their 41-yard line. It was 4th and 9 and out came punter Atticus Bertrams. As he handled the ball, he made a heads up play when Penn State’s Jalen Kimber quickly got to him. He avoided the defender and then calmly rushed 15 yards for the first down.
Bertrams has been such a great weapon for the Badgers this season with his punts and he further showed his smarts on this play.
Nathanial Vakos went on to make a 50-yard field goal on the drive to take a 3-0 lead.
Former Wisconsin punter Brad Nortman, who played six years in the NFL, reacted to the play.
6:50 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin looked like it was in deep trouble twice on that drive before moving the chains, once on a 20-yard pickup to Vinny Anthony and once on an aborted punt that turned into a 15-yard gain and a first down. The third time Penn State’s defense stopped the Badgers, UW elected to try a 50-yard field goal, and Nathanial Vakos had just enough to get the ball through the uprights. It’s been an up and down year for Vakos, but he helps UW strike first in this one.
Vakos now has the most field goals in UW history of 50-plus yards, with four. He passed three other guys who hit three: Taylor Mehlaff, Philip Welch and Rafael Gaglianone.
WISCONSIN 3, PENN STATE 0, 11:05/1st
6:47 pm CT October 26, 2024
This game started about as bad as it possibly could, with two incompletions (one being a long loft down the field that nobody was there for … had to be a miscommunication) and then a movement penalty.
But then, Braedyn Locke found Vinny Anthony for yet another big pickup for the receiver, worth 20 yards. Wisconsin nonetheless struggled to move the ball and came on to punt, but Atticus Bertrams elected to keep the ball, eluded the rush that was oncoming, and marched all the way down into Penn State territory for a monster 15-yard pickup (and a monster hit at the end of the play, too).
I don’t think it was a designed fake; it looks like Bertrams just saw the rush and figured he’d be kicking into a wall, then took advantage of the opportunity.
Wisconsin now finds itself on Penn State’s 34-yard line following a first-down run for Tawee Walker. What a wild start.
6:40 pm CT October 26, 2024
The last time Wisconsin beat Penn State was 2011 when the Badgers throttled the Nittany Lions, 45-7, at Camp Randall Stadium.
The star of that game was Montee Ball, who was a workhorse with 25 carries for 156 yards and four touchdowns.
Ball is back in Madison on Saturday night as the team’s honorary captain.
He made an appearance from the sidelines during NBC’s pregame show and predicted a Badgers win, 24-20.
Ball then banged a big drum and fired up the crowd in the stands.
Will Ball’s presence be a good omen for the Badgers?
6:39 pm CT October 26, 2024
If you’re thinking about that David Gilreath play as it relates to under-the-lights home battles against a top-three team, Wisconsin will have a shot, in theory. The Badgers lost the coin toss, Penn State deferred to the second half, and UW will take the football to open the game.
Update: The kick lands in the end zone, so nope. Wisconsin will start on its own 25.
6:32 pm CT October 26, 2024
Here are updated Big Ten football standings heading into the Wisconsin-Penn State game. The only other conference game still to play yet in Week 9 is Michigan-Michigan State, which also kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
6:28 pm CT October 26, 2024
Mark Stewart and JR Radcliffe looked into their crystal ball and saw the exact same score: 24-20. But they didn’t pick the same winner.
Check out their pre-game predictions as we get closer and closer to kickoff here at Camp Randall.
6:11 pm CT October 26, 2024
We took a look earlier in the week at the times Wisconsin has played a top-three team, with eight victories in the last 70 years against those programs. That included an unforgettable 2010 win over Ohio State under the lights, and another win over OSU in 2003. But Wisconsin doesn’t have any other top-three wins since; in fact, the win in 2010 is the last time UW beat even a top-five team.
Penn State, coming in at No. 3, would be an obvious big-time addition to that canon. Wisconsin hasn’t beaten Penn State in any capacity since 2011.
Wisconsin owns a 4-4 record in its last eight top-10 home games, dating back to that 2010 win, and only one of those losses came by more than one score, so there’s at least some optimism that this will be a fun ride. Wisconsin beat No. 9 Iowa in 2021, No. 7 Nebraska in 2016, No. 8 Nebraska in 2011 and, of course, No. 1 OSU in 2010.
The losses have come to No. 3 OSU last year (24-10 loss), No. 10 Indiana in 2020, No. 2 Ohio State in 2016 (in overtime) and No. 6 Ohio State in 2012 (also in overtime).
UW has won 10 of its last 11 night games at Camp Randall Stadium, dating back to 2016, with the only loss against Ohio State last year.
5:46 pm CT October 26, 2024
With a couple running backs banged up, don’t completely rule out the possibility that Waukesha Catholic Memorial alumnus Corey Smith sees the field for Penn State in this game or one of the next couple. The true freshman was down the depth chart, but with backup running back Cam Wallace and his replacement, true freshman Quinton Martin, both out for the Nittany Lions, Smith has risen to No. 3 on the depth chart.
He hasn’t seen the field yet this season, but he does know the venue; he gained 84 yards for Memorial when his team won the state title his sophomore season at Camp Randall Stadium. He also scored two touchdowns in a heartbreaking loss to Columbus, 23-21, to cap his junior season.
Fellow CMH alumnus Donovan Harbour is not on the travel roster but is in the program. You’ll recall Wisconsin’s current coaching staff somewhat famously did not pursue Smith and Harbour during their high-profile recruitment.
He’s not the only Wisconsinite involved. Garrett Sexton, an Arrowhead alumnus and another true freshman, is also not on the travel roster, but Jerry Cross is. The tight end from Milwaukee King has appeared in one game this season and saw time in five last year.
Nolan Rucci, who was with Wisconsin the last three seasons, is a backup right tackle for the Nittany Lions. Likewise, Jordan Mayer, who was with Wisconsin last year, is also on the PSU travel roster as a defensive end.
5:08 pm CT October 26, 2024
Wisconsin will be adorned in red jerseys and red pants tonight for the battle with Penn State, adding a little more flavor to the night game at Camp Randall Stadium. Penn State will be in the traditional white jerseys with navy pants.
It’s white helmets for Bucky, so don’t expect a complete color rush, but it’ll be a little different nonetheless.
4:56 pm CT October 26, 2024
The Badgers have listed wide receiver Bryson Green as questionable as well as tight end JT Seagreaves. Green has not played the past three weeks after sustaining an injury against Purdue, but he did travel last week, even though he didn’t play.
Green has a brace on his knee during warm-ups but is participating in those drills.
Among the players out, none are surprises. The list includes Chez Mellusi, Tyler Van Dyke, Joe Griffin and James Thompson, all players out for the year because of injury. Offensive lineman Leyton Nelson and tight end Rob Booker have not seen the field this year.
Safety Kamo’i Latu and receiver/return man Tyrell Henry are among the players who would otherwise see the field. Receiver Grady O’Neill, outside linebacker Tamer Dalloul and offensive lineman Evan Brown are also out.
Players out for Penn State include safety Kevin Winston Jr., receiver Kaden Saunders, running back Quinton Martin Jr., running back Cam Wallace, defensive end Keon Wylie, defensive end Zuriah Fisher, receiver Mehki Flowers, receiver Jake Spencer and tight end Andrew Rappleyea.
Saunders, a return man, will miss a third straight week. Martin is on the depth chart at running back, usually as RB3. Nick Singleton, who is the name to know at running back, has been dinged up a little this year but isn’t on the injury report, though the Nittany Lions will be a little short of depth behind him and Kaytron Allen.
