Lana Del Rey and her swamp tour guide boyfriend aren’t playing (video) games and have officially filed for a marriage license in Louisiana, according to court records.
The famous singer and Jeremy Dufrene obtained the license in Lafourche Parish, which is about an hour’s drive from the New Orleans metro.
The application was filed on Sept. 23 at the clerk of court’s office in Thibodaux. The couple paid $32 cash to obtain the license.
The couple, who made headlines recently for apparently riding out Hurricane Francine together down the bayou, have 30 days to wed in the state of Louisiana or the license will expire.
Rumors about Del Rey and Dufrene’s relationship first started swirling in late August, when the pair were photographed together in England before Del Rey’s performance at the 2024 Reading & Leeds Festival. British tabloid Daily Mail later reported that Del Rey and Dufrene were spotted together at a local pub in London.
Dufrene, a 49-year-old Louisiana native and boat captain at Airboat Tours by Arthur Matherne, has known the “Summertime Sadness” singer for years. In March 2019, Del Rey posted photos to Facebook of herself and several friends on a tour with Dufrene in Des Allemands.
Del Rey returned to Louisiana in May of this year for another swamp tour, again tagging Dufrene in a photo posted to Instagram, before headlining at Hangout Fest in Orange Beach, Alabama. Nearly a month later, the singer posted more photos from the New Orleans area, including one of herself in a booth at Metairie’s hole-in-the-wall diner Tic-Toc Café.
