AGRA: A Class 2 student killed in his school hostel in Hathras earlier this week was ‘sacrificed‘ as part of a black magic ritual to bring success and fame to the school, police said on Thursday, adding that five people, including the director of D L Public School at Rasgawan under Sahpau police station limits and three teachers, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case.In a chilling revelation, police said the five had tried to kill another boy in the recent past, although the attempt was not successful
Hathras SP Nipun Agarwal said the school director Dinesh Baghel, his father Jashodhan Singh, and three teachers — Laxman Singh, Veerpal Singh, and Ramprakash Solanki — were involved in the murder. “The boy was sacrificed as part of a ritual for the school’s supposed success and glory. We are investigating if any other individuals were involved in the murder.”

Police investigation revealed that Baghel’s father believed in black magic and tantrik rituals, and together with his son and the three teachers, they believed that sacrificing a child would bring them success and fame. “Jashodhan had tried to kill a boy earlier as well, although it was not successful,” Agarwal said.
D L Public School has around 600 students, and the hostel where the boy was killed houses kids from Classes 1 to 5. The deceased student was the son of Krishan Kushwaha, a software engineer at a private firm in Delhi.

On Monday morning, a staff member and other students in the hostel found the boy unresponsive in his hostel bed. Instead of immediately reporting the death, Dinesh attempted to cover up the crime by taking the boy’s body in his car and driving around — to Agra and Aligarh — for several hours. The boy’s family, who belong to Tursen, Hathras, were told their child was “unwell.” However, upon arriving at the school, they could not find the boy.
Kushwaha, realising something was wrong, alerted the local police. A manhunt was launched for Baghel, and after a few hours, the police found the boy’s body with injury marks on the neck inside Baghel’s vehicle.
A senior police officer said, “The child’s body was discovered in the director’s car after the family raised the alarm. We sent the body for an autopsy, which revealed that the child had been strangled to death on Sunday night. A case of murder under BNS section 103(1) has been registered against the five accused.”
