THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following allegations of sexual assault by a junior artist against him, actor Siddique filed a petition to state police chief against her.
In an email complaint from Ooty, where the actor is currently shooting, Siddique said there is a clear agenda behind the artist raising allegations against him.
He said that the woman had initially alleged that he used offensive words against her, but now she is claiming that he sexually assaulted her.
He mentioned that he had met the woman in the presence of her parents, and the allegations were raised by her in 2019, which was three years after the meeting.
Siddique added that the woman changed her allegations after the release of Hema Committee report, and her move was nothing but a publicity stunt.
The junior actor had accused Siddique of sexually assaulting her and locking her up in a room in the state capital after the preview of one of his films in 2016.
Following the allegations, Siddique, who was elected general secretary of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) recently, resigned from the post on Sunday. The special team constituted by govt to probe such charges will investigate the case.
