Patriots Release 14 Players

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots released 14 players today in anticipation of tomorrow’s mandatory cutdown to the 53-man roster limit.

The Patriots released the following players: LS Tucker Addington, WR Kawaan Baker, DE William Bradley-King, DT Josiah Bronson, LB Steele Chambers, RB Deshaun Fenwick, CB Azizi Hearn, T Zuri Henry, DE Christian McCarroll, TE La’Michael Pettway, DT Sam Roberts, C Charles Turner, CB Mikey Victor, and TE Jacob Warren.

Addington, 27, was signed by New England on August 5, 2024. He played in three games with New England during the 2022 season after being signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Dec. 23, 2022, following a season-ending injury to LS Joe Cardona. The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder, went to training camp last season with New England but was released on Aug. 15. He signed with Jacksonville on Aug. 20 but was released on Aug. 29. Addington was signed to the Washington practice squad on Dec. 19 and signed to the 53-man roster on Dec. 30, seeing action in three games. Addington played college football at Sam Houston State and was signed by Dallas to the practice squad on Oct. 5, 2022 after playing for the Houston Gamblers of the USFL in 2022.

Baker, 26, originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick (255th overall) by the New Orleans Saints in the 2021 NFL Draft out of South Alabama. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder, began his rookie season on the practice squad. Baker was elevated to the active roster for two games as a rookie and saw action on special teams vs. Miami on Dec. 27, 2021 and vs. Carolina on Jan. 2, 2022. He also spent time on the practice squad of Green Bay and Philadelphia.

Bradley-King, 26, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Oct. 18, 2023. The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder, originally joined Washington as a seventh-round draft pick (240th overall) out of Baylor in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has spent parts of the last two seasons on the practice squad and the 53-man roster for Washington, seeing action in four games and accumulating six total tackles. Bradley-King spent the first month of the 2023 season on the Washington practice squad before being released on Oct. 16.

Bronson, 27, spent the 2024 spring playing for the Memphis Showboats of the UFL, seeing action in all 10 games and finishing with 12 total tackles and a 1½ sacks. The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder, signed with New England on July 28, 2024. He has spent time in the NFL with New Orleans, Cleveland, Dallas and Miami. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with New Orleans on May 10, 2021, out of Washington.

Chambers, 24, was claimed off waivers from Detroit on June 11, 2024. He originally was signed by Detroit as a rookie free agent out of Ohio State on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-1, 229-pounder, was released by Detroit on June 10, 2024. Chambers began his collegiate career as a running back before switching to linebacker in the fall of 2021. He started in 29 games at linebacker over the last three seasons in college.

Fenwick, 24, was originally signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Oregon State on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-1, 223-pounder, was released on Aug. 2 and then re-signed on Aug. 12. He played in 50 collegiate games and had 385 rushing attempts for 2,118 yards and 18 touchdowns and caught 31 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns.

Hearn, 25, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Sept. 21, 2023. The 6-foot-1, 204-pounder, originally was signed by Las Vegas as a rookie free agent out of UCLA on May 12, 2023 and was released by the Raiders on Aug. 29, 2023.

Henry, 24, was originally signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Texas-El Paso on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-6, 310-pounder, spent six seasons at UTEP, seeing action at both left tackle and right tackle and started in 36 of 53 games.

McCarroll, 24, was signed by New England as a rookie free agent on Aug. 20, 2024 out of Grand Valley State. The 6-foot-2, 253-pounder, played in 47 games during his college career and finished with 151 total tackles, 15 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 forced fumbles.

Pettway, 27, was signed by New England to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Jan. 6, 2024 after originally being signed to the practice squad on Dec. 27, 2023. The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder, originally signed with Indianapolis as a free agent on Aug. 2, 2023 after spending the 2022 season with Michigan of the USFL and 2023 with Birmingham of the USFL. Pettway played college football at Iowa State.

Roberts, 26, originally joined New England as a sixth-round draft pick (200th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Northwest Missouri State. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder, has played in 12 games with one start over the last two seasons and has registered 7 total tackles.

Turner, 23, was signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Louisiana State on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-4, 303-pounder, began his career as a tackle before moving to center where he started for the last two seasons.

Victor, 24, was signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Alabama State on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder, began his college career at Ventura College and UNLV before playing the last two seasons at Alabama State. He finished with 55 total tackles, 3 interceptions and 21 passes defensed for Alabama State.

Warren, 24, was signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Tennessee on June 6, 2024. The 6-foot-6, 251-pounder, spent six seasons at Tennessee (2018-23) and was a starter for three seasons. He played in 54 games with 33 starts overall and finished with 53 receptions for 607 yards and eight touchdowns.
