Kelsey Mitchell scored 29 points in nearly 38 minutes and Caitlin Clark added 19 points. Indiana Fever would hold off the Atlanta Dream 84-79 in front of a sold out State Farm Arena Monday night.
“I feel like I’m just a kid that plays basketball and has a lot of fun,” Clark said of the record crowd in Atlanta.
Caitlin Clark’s 21 games with 15+ points and 5+ assists is the most by any rookie in WNBA history. Moreover, Clark’s four 3-pointers Monday tied the the rookie record of 85 by Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard in 2022.
Meanwhile, Tina Charles scored 21 to lead Atlanta. Howard had 16 points and Allisha Gray added 12. Gray exited the game with a back injury and did not return. The Dream moved the game to the home of the Atlanta Hawks and set an attendance record of 17,608. It surpassed the crowd that attended the previous game against the Fever (17,575).
