What channel is Patriots-Commanders game on today? Start time, announcers, and more

2024-08-26 06:40:02

The Patriots are on the road this week for their preseason finale against the Commanders, a team they have become very familiar with over the years before the regular season begins. In fact, Sunday’s matchup will be their 24th meeting in the preseason, making them the third most frequent opponent of the preseason for New England.

Both teams are in the midst of a rebuild, with new head coaches and rookie quarterbacks and hopes of improving upon a disappointing 2023 season. Oddly, the Patriots and Commanders finished with 4-13 records, good for last place in their divisions, with the main difference being Washington’s offense.

With Jayden Daniels in toe, who won’t be taking the field in this game, the NFC East team intends to be competitive again and chase down the perennial division winners, the Eagles, to make the playoffs, while the Patriots are just aiming for a better outcome than what was seen last year.

It will be a significant game for both rosters, as the cutdown deadline to bring the team down to their final 53-man roster is set for Tuesday, August 27. This game will be their final opportunity to impress and hopefully lock up a roster spot.

The Patriots vs. Commanders game will be featured as this week’s Sunday Night Football game presented by NBC. It will be shown nationally on the network, and for Boston locals, it can be watched on NBC 10 Boston.

If you can’t watch the broadcast on cable for any reason, there are other options available to catch the action.

The NBC app and NFL+ will be live streaming the game, as well, both of which can be downloaded on mobile devices and computers. For overseas fans, please refer to Patriots.com for special broadcast showings is on the team’s website for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Brazil.

And, as always, you can listen to the game on 98.5 The Sports Hub with play-by-play broadcaster Bob Socci and Scott Zolak.

After two weeks of being treated with the McCourty twins and Scott Zolak in the booth for the Patriots’ first two preseason games, this week will feature Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth, with Melissa Stark as the sideline reporter.
