Janmashtami 2024: Significance
For Hindus, Janmashtami is a very important day. Devotees of Lord Krishna celebrate this event with great pomp and show and happiness all across the world. Lord Krishna, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu, was born on this fortunate day of Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month ofBhadrapada. He was Lord Vishnu’s ninth incarnation. Although he was raised by Yashoda Maiya and Nand Baba, but his biological mother and father were Devki and Vasudeva.
People worship the baal roop of Lord Krishna (Laddoo Gopal Ji). Every temple is adorned with vibrant flowers and lights. preparing bhog prasad with a variety of desserts. People buy new dressed and accessories for their Laddoo Gopal Ji.
Janmashtami 2024: Puja Rituals
1. Wake up early in the morning, take a holy bath and take a sankalp of observing strict fast with devotion.
2. Clean the house and puja room before commecing puja rituals.
3. Give bath to Laddoo Gopal Ji with plain water, gangajal and then with panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar powder).
4. Adorn him with new beautiful dress, Mukut, Mor Pankh and flute.
5. Put yellow chandan tilak.
6. Take a wooden plank, place a yellow colour cloth and decorate that with flower garland.
7. Place Laddoo Gopal ji on that and offer him Tulsi Patra, Panchamrit, sweets and five different types of fruits and dry fruits
8. Chant “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaye”.
9. Many people offer him 21, 31 and 56 Bhog to appease Lord Krishna.
10. During midnight, whole country will celebrate Lord Krishna’s birthday and chant “Aarti Kunj Bihari Ki”
