The Packers play host to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday afternoon at Lambeau Field after participating in a joint practice with the AFC North favorites on Thursday.
It’s the Packers’ first and only home preseason game. Several players looking to make the roster — including backup quarterbacks Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt — look for better showings after an ugly 27-2 road loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Packers’ backups again took center stage for a second straight preseason game.
And they delivered a 30-7 win over the Ravens, highlighted by the defense’s four takeaways.
Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt both had their moments as they rotated at quarterback throughout the game. Clifford finished strong after a slow start, while Pratt was better early before throwing a second-half pick.
The kickers were a combined 6 of 7 on field goals and extra points with both Greg Joseph and Anders Carlson making 50-plus yard field goals. But will Carlson’s 32-yard miss in the fourth quarter prove costly? Or does his body of work this training camp win him back his job? We’ll find out Tuesday when cuts are made.
It’s now onto the regular season for the Packers.
We’ve hit the 2-minute warning.
And it’s time to jump around at Lambeau Field.
House of Pain’s “Jump Around” is playing over the speakers. The Ravens have the ball as we close this game out.
Anders Carlson was the first kicker to blink.
He missed a 32-yard field goal wide right, ending the Packers’ perfect streak in the game. That’s definitely a kick you have to make when you’re in a battle for your job. He had made a 54-yard kick earlier.
Greg Joseph, his challenger, is 3 for 3 on his kicks (two field goals and one extra point).
The Packers continue to lead the Ravens, 30-7, with 7:23 left in the game.
Drive: 11 plays, 56 yards, 6:55 (ends with missed 32-yard field goal)
The Packers’ running backs lower on the depth chart came to play today.
Ellis Merriweather and Nate McCrary are rotating snaps and both running with purpose on this drive, which started at the Packers’ 30-yard line.
They carried the ball on nine of the 10 snaps to get the Packers into the Ravens red zone.
McCrary busted off for an 18-yard run on a 3rd and 3 earlier in the drive.
With AJ Dillon battling a stinger and rookie MarShawn Lloyd injured, every running back out there is running like their job depends on it. And it might.
The Packers defense stopped the Ravens on a 4th and short to take over at their own 30-yard line early in the fourth quarter.
And Sean Clifford is back in the game.
His most-recent drive ended with a touchdown before Michael Pratt got another opportunity.
Head coach Matt LaFleur is giving both quarterbacks plenty of chances to stand out.
Jonathan Ford left the game in the third quarter with a calf injury. Ford is a 2022 seventh-round draft pick. He spent the 2023 season on the Packers practice squad.
The Packers’ kickers are certainly giving general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur something to think about with the way they’re performing today.
Greg Joseph remained perfect on the day after drilling a 55-yard field goal to give the Packers a 30-7 lead late in the third quarter.
It’s Joseph’s second made field goal of the game. Anders Carlson made a 54-yard kick in the second quarter.
Joseph and Carlson are a combined 6 for 6 on kicks (field goals and extra points).
Drive: 9 plays, 36 yards, 4:52
Score: Packers 30, Ravens 7 (with 1:59 left in the third quarter)
The Packers give it right back to the Ravens.
Two plays into the drive, Michael Pratt was picked off at the Ravens 10-yard line.
That’s the Packers’ first turnover. The Ravens have four.
The Packers defense forces a three and out. No harm, no foul on the scoreboard. But Pratt would definitely like that interception back. He’ll still probably get a few more possessions to recover.
The Packers defense does it again.
It was Kristian Welch’s turn. The linebacker picked off rookie quarterback Devin Leary at the Ravens 38-yard line in heavy traffic.
That’s now four takeaways for the Packers defense, a unit that played all of their backups today.
Michael Pratt has now taken over.
That’s probably now it for Sean Clifford, who recovered after a slow start.
The Packers defense starts the second half with another takeaway.
This time it’s rookie cornerback Kalen King who caused it. He lowered his head into Ravens tight end Riley Sharp. Linebacker Christian Young picked it up to set the Packers offense with a great scoring opportunity.
Six plays later, Sean Clifford connected with Malik Heath for a 7-yard touchdown over the middle.
That had to feel good for Clifford, who re-entered the game late in the first half.
Anders Carlson made the extra point.
Score: Packers 27, Ravens 7 (with 12:01 left in the third quarter)
The Packers defense had two takeaways and recorded a defensive touchdown in the second quarter to take a 20-7 lead into halftime.
Both kickers have made all of their kicks as well in the first 30 minutes.
Sean Clifford has returned to the game to conduct a 2-minute drill.
The second-year quarterback started the game but was taken out after he first two drives.
He’ll look for some positive plays to end the half. He had his most productive play when he completed a 15-yard first-down pass Samori Toure on second down.
The drive stalled but getting back in the game has to give Clifford some confidence, at least.
The guess is Clifford stays in the game to get more reps.
Drive: 6 plays, 24 yards, 1:35
Arron Mosby is a playmaker out there.
Moments after what was thought to be a touchdown for the Ravens (it was overturned on replay after the refs determined a pass hit the ground), Mosby intercepted quarterback Devin Leary at the Packers 27-yard line.
That’s how you make a roster in the final preseason game.
The Packers are taking over with 1:57 left in the first half.
More Lambeau Leaps!
Defensive lineman Packers Arron Mosby broke through the line of scrimmage, and hit Ravens quarterback Devin Leary to force a fumble.
There was then a mad dash to the fumble as the ball went backward. Packers safety Anthony Johnson scooped it up at the Ravens 24-yard line and sprinted into the end zone.
Johnson and a few of his teammates jumped into the stands for a Lambeau Leap.
Greg Joseph then made the extra point.
Drive: 4 plays, -11 yards, 2:03
Score: Packers 20, Ravens 7 (with 5:19 left in second quarter)
The Packers come right back and have retaken the lead.
Michael Pratt capped an eight-play drive with a beautiful 18-yard back-shoulder touchdown pass to Bo Meltonr throw to Melton..
Melton then had a perfect Lambeau Leap.
Pratt looks much more poised out there than he has all preseason.
Anders Carlson made the extra point.
One of the highlights of the drive was also a 20-yard catch and run from Emanuel Wilson. He’s doing a little bit of everything today. Ellis Merriweather also had two more runs (7 and 2 yards) on the drive. He’s having a solid game as well.
Drive: 7 plays, 65 yards, 3:59
Score: Packers 13, Ravens 7 (with 7:22 left in second quarter)
The Ravens get a big strike and take the lead.
With the Ravens facing a 3rd and 9 at the Green Bay 48, Josh Johnson found a wide open Tylan Wallace across the middle. Wallace then took it from there as he cut to the right side and finished off his 48-yard touchdown after diving on the right sideline pylon.
Drive: 7 plays, 62 yards, 3:36
Score: Ravens 7, Packers 6
Greg Joseph isn’t going to go down without a fight in his quest to win the kicking job..
Joseph made a 36-yard kick today to give the Packers a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter.
Joseph missed his only field goal attempt in Sunday’s preseason loss to the Denver Broncos and has been trending in the wrong direction of late with more missed kicks during practice.
The kicking battle continues. Expect to see both Carlson and Joseph get opportunities today.
Drive: 12 plays, 57 yards, 5:55
Score: Packers 6, Ravens 0 (with 14:57 left in the second quarter)
Today’s preseason game is all about players on the back end of the roster looking to leave an impression on the coaches.
Ellis Merriweather, 25, looks to be doing that. He’s now in at running back and is running with a purpose.
On this drive, he has four carries for 25 yards. Merriweather spent the second half of the 2023 season on the Packers’ practice squad.
The Packers defense forces another three and out and now the Packers have a quarterback change.
Rookie Michael Pratt has entered the game in the first quarter.
Is Sean Clifford’s day over already after just two possessions?
Not a great sign for him if he’s being pulled now in a critical game to show the coaches that he should hold onto the No. 2 job behind Jordan Love.
That was a quick three and out for the Packers.
Sean Clifford is now 1 for 7 for 13 yards in the first two drives. He has been under pressure quite a bit and there was a drop on one of his passes.
He sailed a pass for Malik Heath out of bounds on 3rd and 11.
Like the Packers, the Ravens are sitting their star quarterback.
Former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is watching from the sidelines as veteran Josh Jacobs begins the game at quarterback.
Given that Jackson had a close call on a bicycle going into the joint practice on Thursday it’s probably a wise decision that he doesn’t take any chances in a meaningless game.
The Ravens went three and out and kept going backward after two penalties stunted the drive.
The Packers’ first drive stalled but it ends on a positive note with a long field goal make by Anders Carlson.
Carlson’s 54-yard kick gives the Packers a 3-0 lead.
Carlson, who led the NFL in missed kicks last season as a rookie, is in a tight battle with Greg Joseph for the job.
But Joseph has been scuffling of late, giving Carlson the edge. That made kick can only increase Carlson’s odds of keeping his spot on the team.
Drive: 10 plays, 34 yards, 3:46
Score: Packers 3, Ravens 0 (with 11:14 left in the first quarter)
The Packers get the ball first.
Sean Clifford is under center at quarterback first looking to take control of the backup job he held last year.
On the game’s second play, running back Emanuel Wilson powered his way for a nice 12-yard run up the middle for a first down. He looked really good on that run.
Wilson later had an 8-yard run and then carried the pile for a strong 2-yard run to get a first down. An impressive start for the second-year player.
If Wilson has another solid game he should be in line to be the No. 2 running back behind Josh Jacobs when the regular season begins.
Fifth-year pro AJ Dillon isn’t playing for a second straight game. The veteran running back is battling a stinger that he suffered in a joint practice with the Broncos last week.
It’s a beautiful 80 degrees with sunny skies.
There’s a slight southwest wind at 2 mph, according to the Packers broadcast.
No.
Love is among 38 players who won’t play in the Packers’ preseason finale. He also didn’t play on Sunday in the team’s second preseason game. Love and the starters got a lot of work in during the joint practice with the Ravens on Thursday.
That means Love will enter the Week 1 regular season game on Sept. 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil having played one series in the preseason. It was a memorable one. He threw a 65-yard touchdown pass on the third play of the preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns Aug. 10.
Love was also one of 31 players who didn’t play against the Broncos on Sunday.

Kickoff is noon.

Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Saturday morning.
Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt should put forth a better showing than last week as the Packers’ backup position is still up for grabs.
The Packers also should be a little more fired up as well playing in front of their home fans for the first time this preseason. Besides the position battles, the main goal is to leave the game injury-free with the regular season in less than two weeks.
Packers 24, Ravens 17
The Packers’ training camp practice open to fans is over.
