Who sang with Pink at the DNC? Here’s who performed this week

2024-08-24 00:35:01

The 2024 Democratic National Convention has been filled with performances from artists from all across the music industry and Thursday night was another music-filled night.

On the final night of the convention, there was much speculation on whether or not Taylor Swift or Beyoncé would be a “mystery guest” that would grace the convention stage ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’ Democratic presidential nomination acceptance speech. And while we didn’t get that, singer Pink headlined the evening with a rendition of her song “What About Us” and brought her own special guest, her 13-year-old daughter Willow Sage Hart.

The teenager may have not been the special guest people thought they would see, but the teen stood side by side with her mother and delivered and acoustic version with three other singers and a guitar accompaniment of Pink’s 2017 single that had all of the internet wondering just who the young teen was.

Who sang with Pink at the DNC?

Willow is Pink’s oldest child with her husband of 18 years, Carey Hart, and this isn’t the first time the 13 year old has graced a stage with her mother. Willow has made appearances throughout Pink’s world tour this past year and joined her when Pink received the Icon Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards in a duet of “Cover Me in Sunshine.”

Who has performed at the DNC?

Nashville staples have helped to keep the crowd entertained throughout the convention along with various other artists from country, soul, rap and more. They joined political speakers bolstering fellow Democrats and imploring those on the fence to vote for Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.

Here’s a look of some of the stars with Music City ties that played this week.

Jason Isbell and Mickey Guyton helped kick off the first day of the convention Monday. Both singers may have come from different backgrounds but both have made a name for themselves in Music City and country music. Isbell performed his 2015 song, “Something More Than Free,” a track off his Grammy-winning fifth studio album. Guyton performed her 2021 song “All American.”

On Wednesday, Grammy Award winner Maren Morris performed Wednesday night with her “protest song” from 2020, which was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, “Better Than We Found It”.

On Thursday, country music rabble-rousers The Chicks performed a harmonious rendition of the national anthem.

And while country had a good representation, artists from all different genres performed. Here’s who else took the stage over the convention’s four days:

  • Patti LaBelle: “You Are My Friend”
  • Common and Jonathan McReynolds: “Fortunate” and “God Is Good”
  • Lil Jon: “Turn Down for What” and “Get Low”
  • Stevie Wonder: “Higher Ground”
  • John Legend and Sheila E.: “Let’s Go Crazy”
  • Pink: “What About Us”

Who was the DNC mystery guest?

Rumors swirled early on Thursday about a mystery guest showing up to the last night of the national convention, and a majority of bets were placed on it being either Beyoncé or Taylor Swift…as we know it was neither. And it persisted even more as the Tennessee lawmakers dubbed the Tennessee Three were reportedly bumped from speaking due to said mystery guest.

But was there even a mystery guest?

As far as most people can tell there wasn’t any mystery guest scheduled, but there was plenty of entertainment with Thursday night’s special guests that included PinkThe Chicks and The Pack Drumline.

But that didn’t stop people from speculating on who it could be and guesses ranged from the singers to former President George H.W. Bush. Take a look at some of the wild speculation here.
