Haynes King has to go off. So much of the buzz around the Yellow Jackets this season is centered around their quarterback, and this is King’s opportunity to make a splash right out of the gate. Florida State’s secondary and defensive line should again be elite, so the Seminoles won’t make it easy on King.
But the junior has his top wide receiver back in Eric Singleton Jr., and Georgia Tech’s leading rusher Jamal Haynes, who rushed for 1,000-plus yards in 2023. Plus, Georgia Tech returns the crux of its offensive line after only giving up 1.15 sacks per game last season, good for the 15th-best mark nationally. King has the pieces he needs. Now he’ll need to set the tone and take over.
