A $3.3 million Allstate settlement resolves claims that the insurance company called consumers and recorded their calls without consent.

The settlement benefits consumers whom Allstate’s Claims Liability Determination Unit called on their cell phones between Feb. 1, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2022, where the call was recorded without their consent.

According to the class action lawsuit, this call recording allegedly violated California’s Invasion of Privacy Act.

Allstate is an insurance company that insures consumers across the country under car, home, rental, motorcycle and other policies.

Allstate hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $3.3 million to resolve the call recording class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of Allstate settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Payments amounts will vary depending on the number of valid claims filed. No payment estimates are available at this time.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Oct. 30, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2025.

To receive Allstate settlement, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 30, 2024.

Who’s Eligible
