Broncos vs. Bucs Inactive Report

2024-09-23 02:15:03

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers held out some hope heading into the weekend that defensive lineman Vita Vea would be able to play against the Denver Broncos in Week Three after sustaining a knee injury last Sunday in Detroit. However, Vea will miss at least one game before returning to action, as he downgraded to out on the injury report on Saturday.

Vea is one of five players on the Buccaneers’ roster who will not be able to play against the Broncos due to injury. Defensive lineman Calijah Kancey will miss a third straight game due to a calf injury he suffered in practice just before the start of the regular season. All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield has been ruled out for the second straight week due to a foot injury sustained in the season opener. Luke Goedeke, the team’s starting right tackle, is still recovering from a concussion suffered in Week One. And rookie WR Kameron Johnson has been sidelined by an ankle injury.

Second-year cornerback Josh Hayes, one of the Bucs’ top special teams performers, returns after missing one game with an ankle injury. Defensive lineman Will Gholston is also set to play after being listed as questionable for the game with a knee injury.

The Buccaneers and Broncos submitted their list of inactives at 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff of their game at Raymond James Stadium. After elevating defensive lineman Mike Greene and wide receiver Sterling Shepard from the practice squad on Saturday, the Buccaneers had 55 available players and thus had to name seven inactives to get down to the game-day limit of 48. The Broncos elevated running back Tyler Badie and defensive back Tanner McCalister from the practice squad and therefore had to name seven inactives, as well.

The Broncos’ inactive information will be added shortly.
