CEO Deepinder Goyal announces this ‘cool’ new Zomato feature, users debate ‘cool quotient’

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has announced a new feature coming to the Zomato app. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Goyal wrote that Zomato users will now be able to see live order count in the app.

A cool new update for everyone – You can now see the LIVE order count on @zomato for the day, right after you place your order. I just placed an order at around 11am, and the count was already over 250,000.Have fun!\

Users react to Zomato’s new feature

Goyal’s post had a mixed reaction from users. While a few expressed their excitement, others questioned the value-addition of the feature for Zomato customers.
“It was about 13 lacs yesterday at eod. Mind blowing adoption. India is literally feeding itself off zomato,” wrote one user.
“I placed the order around 9 pm. So if it bumped to 20 lacs in 3/4 hours (approx 70% increase), it’s even more fun,” commented another.
“What value does it add to the end-consumer? Genuinely curious,” asked a third.

Zomato announces Restaurant Awards 2024

Earlier this week, Zomato announced the Restaurant Awards 2024. The food delivery platform hosts this award every year where it asks its customers to vote for their favorite restaurant in their region. The award page is now live on Zomato’s app on both Android and iOS platforms and users can start casting their votes. Also, the voting happens for both Delivery and Dining options available on the platform.
