ACLU of Wisconsin Encourages Voters To Utilize In-Person Early Voting Options

The ACLU of Wisconsin reminded voters that in-person absentee voting begins tomorrow across the state in most areas and will continue in municipalities until Sunday, November 3.

The organization reminded voters they don’t have to wait for Election Day to vote. They can find early voting polling locations and hours for their area and make sure they bring their ID. They also remind people that those not registered to vote can register at the polls during most early voting days; however, to vote on Saturday, November 2, or Sunday, November 3, a person must already be registered to vote. Registration status information can be found at MyVote.WI.gov.

New Early Voting Locations

After months of advocacy from a coalition of community organizations defending voting rights, the Milwaukee Common Council unanimously approved early voting locations at 6001 W. Capitol Drive and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM) and Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) campuses last year.

The early voting location at the UWM Zelazo Center (2419 E Kenwood Blvd.) is open this week starting tomorrow until Friday, October 25, and Monday, October 28, until Thursday, October 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with additional hours on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

There will also be a polling location in Room S114 of the MATC S Building (700 W State St.) available on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Note that this location closes early on Saturdays at 2 p.m. and is closed on Sundays.

“We hope that the community will utilize these new polling places to cast their vote and make their voices heard,” said Deputy Advocacy Director James Stein.
