After a nearly two-hour weather delay in Morgantown, the West Virginia Mountaineers (2-2, 1-0 Big 12) rallied late to secure a 32-28 win over the Kansas Jayhawks (1-3, 0-1 Big 12) in their Big 12 Conference opener. Down 28-25 with just over two minutes remaining, Garrett Greene led the Mountaineers on a game-winning drive, culminating in a 15-yard touchdown pass to Rodney Gallagher. On Kansas’ final possession, Tyrin Bradley sealed the game with a strip sack, giving WVU a much-needed bounce-back win after their late collapse against Pitt the previous week.
The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading big plays. WVU struck first with an early touchdown, but Kansas responded, tying the game 14-14 early in the second half.
