Final score in college football

2024-09-22 09:15:03

Vanderbilt football played close with Missouri the whole game.

The Commodores (2-1) played bend but don’t break with the Tigers (3-0) the whole game on defense. Missouri missed three field goals as the game remained tied late in the fourth quarter.

Brock Taylor missed a potential go-ahead 50-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, but Vanderbilt got a stop and got the ball back, eventually opting to send the game to overtime pinned deep in its own territory.

The Commodores and Tigers both scored touchdowns on their first possessions of overtime to send it to double overtime.

Missouri made a field goal to start off double overtime and Taylor missed his field goal in Vanderbilt’s half of double overtime to give the Tigers a 30-27 win.

Missouri (3-0) is one of four opponents ranked in the top 10 of the US LBM Coaches Poll that Vanderbilt will face this season. The Tigers are the only opponent that will come on the road, however, with Alabama, Texas and Tennessee all being home games.

The Commodores have lost 27 straight games against AP top-10 opponents with its last win coming against then-No. 6 ranked South Carolina in 2007 entering Saturday.
