AHMEDABAD: A restaurant in Nikol was sealed for preparing food in unsanitary conditions after a dead rat was allegedly found in the sambar served to a family.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Health Department recently took action against Kevadiya, a restaurant in the city, due to serious breaches in health and hygiene standards. The department issued a notice to the establishment, detailing the violations, and subsequently sealed the premises.
The report revealed that the restaurant’s kitchen lacked proper security measures, which allowed animals to gain access and jeopardize the hygiene of the food being prepared.“The food was deemed unsafe,” the notice stated, leading the authorities to take the decisive step of sealing the restaurant to safeguard public health and prevent any potential risks.
