Rutgers roared out of the gates in 2024 with four consecutive wins, including back-to-back Power Four victories over Virginia Tech (26-23) and Washington (21-18). But now, the Scarlet Knights are coming off two straight losses where old offensive woes resurfaced at Nebraska (14-7) and against Wisconsin (42-7). Rutgers is a 5-point favorite to stop that brief skid and inch within a game of bowl eligibility with five more to play.
While UCLA limps to the East Coast as losers of five straight games, the Bruins do have encouraging performances in their most recent two contests, a 27-11 road loss to then-No. 4 Penn State and a 21-17 setback to Minnesota. UCLA grabbed a late lead against the Golden Gophers, but lost on a Darius Taylor touchdown catch with 27 seconds remaining.
