Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has made history, becoming the first player to ever hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season.
Ohtani accomplished the incredible feat on Thursday afternoon, taking a 1-2 pitch the other way for his 50th home run. He had already stolen a base and hit a homer earlier in the game.
For all the talent that’s ever graced the game of baseball, it’s hard to argue that there’s ever been a player better than Ohtani. A Cy Young talent on the mound and one of the most prolific bats the diamond has ever seen.
Ohtani swiped two bags and drove in seven runs in LA’s win over Miami. It was his 13th game this season with at least one steal and one home run.
The 30-year-old has plenty of amazing baseball left in him in Hollywood. So let’s celebrate.
