NEW DELHI: The UGC-NET June 2024 examination, conducted by National Testing Agency, that took place on Tuesday has been cancelled following concerns about the integrity of the exam. The examination took place in OMR (pen and paper) mode and was held in two shifts across various cities.
Inputs from Indian cyber crime coordination centre suggested possible compromises, prompting the ministry of education to take action.A new examination will be scheduled, and the matter has been referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation.
On Wednesday, the University Grants Commission received indications from cybersecurity authorities that the integrity of the examination might have been compromised.
To maintain transparency and integrity, the ministry of education decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination. A fresh examination will be organised and details regarding this will be communicated separately.
“Any individual/organisation found to be involved in this matter will face strictest action,” stated the ministry.
