Morgan Wallen has been working on new music for the better part of the year, and he’s once again teasing his fans on what’s to come on his next project.
The country singer took to social media to share a snippet of a mid-tempo track about looking for love. Although the words are filled with hope, there is an ounce of pain in them, as well. The feeling behind the lines is that of being fed up with betrayal and heartbreak.
“I just wanna love somebody / Who won’t leave a hole in my heart / I just wanna love somebody / That don’t want it fallin’ apart / And I’ll be lucky if I ever find / There’s something more than just a crazy lie,” Wallen sings in what could be the song’s chorus.
“This one coming at y’all soon,” he writes in the caption.
Listen to the teaser he shared below:
So far, the only thing we can count on with Wallen’s new album is that it is happening. He shared a photo on Instagram in June that showed him in a studio — likely the same one from the video above — with a chef emoji.
Fans took this as a sign that the “Lies, Lies, Lies” singer is “cooking up” his next collection in between tour stops on his One Night at a Time Tour.
Then, in August, Wallen shared a sneak peek at a new track that is very different from what we have heard from him in the past. That song is almost ethereal, with a chorus of voices backing the country star. He even takes a stab at some high notes that are out of character for the East Tennessee singer:
