Billie Eilish and Finneas have endorsed Kamala Harris in her 2024 presidential bid.
The sibling musicians took to Instagram on Tuesday, National Voter Registration Day, to share their election preference.
“We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy,” Eilish says in a video reel. “Vote like your life depends on it, because it does.”
Finneas adds, “We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms and our future. The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.”
The duo urged people to go to iwillvote.com to check their voter registration status and make a plan to cast their ballot.
In 2020 Eilish supported Joe Biden, speaking and performing at the Democratic National Convention, where she criticized then-President Donald Trump.
“You don’t need me to tell you things are a mess — Donald Trump is destroying our country and everything we care about. We need leaders who will solve problems like climate change and COVID — not deny them,” Eilish said at the time, during the pandemic-affected virtual convention. “Leaders who will fight against systemic racism and inequality. And that starts by voting for someone who understands how much is at stake; someone who is building a team that shares our values. It starts with voting against Donald Trump and for Joe Biden.”
The endorsement from the multiple Grammy- and Oscar-winning duo comes a week after Taylor Swift endorsed Harris. Her highly anticipated announcement, coming after the presidential debate between Harris and Republican nominee Donald Trump, led to nearly 400,000 visits to the vote.gov website, the government website she highlighted where U.S. citizens can register to vote and check their registration status.
Beyoncé previously gave Harris permission to use her 2016 song “Freedom” as the candidate’s campaign anthem. And Megan Thee Stallion, Bon Iver, Barbra Streisand and John Legend have all expressed their support for the Harris-Walz ticket. Additionally, Pink, The Chicks, Lil Jon and DJ Cassidy all showed up at the 2024 DNC.
