Nominations for the 76th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced July 17.
The Emmys will air live on ABC on Sunday, Sept. 15, from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. A host has not yet been named.
“Shōgun” led the way on the drama side with 25 nominations. “The Bear,” meanwhile, set a record in the comedy field for the most nominations with 23, topping the 22 that “30 Rock” snagged in 2009.
This year also features 36 first-time nominees for performers, while several stars notched multiple nominations, including Richard Gadd, Paul Rudd, Jodie Foster, Donald Glover, Jon Hamm, Brie Larson, Maya Rudolph, Andrew Scott and Kristen Wiig.
“Succession” and “The Bear” were the big winners at the most recent Emmy Awards, snagging six wins apiece.
This year’s ceremony will be held less than a year after the 75th edition of the show, which took place this past January after being bumped back from its intended September 2023 date due to the writers and actors strikes.
That marked the first time the Emmys were postponed since 2001, when they were delayed in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
