WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University Warriors take on the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs in their Sunday home match up.
The Warriors head into a single match up weekend after going 1-1 last weekend. WSU beat the Cougars from the University of Sioux Falls 1-0 and fell in a hard fought battle against the #12 Mavericks from Minnesota State University, Mankato 1-0. The Warriors are set to face off against SMSU on Sunday, October 20 at 1 p.m. on their home pitch.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors are 4-5-1 overall and 3-5 in the NSIC.
- Alyson Jumper earned NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week after her performance against USF and MSU.
- Jumper earned her third shutout of the season in the WSU win against the Cougars, winning 1-0.
- Jumper collected 13 saves, a .929 save percentage, faced 11 corner kicks, and allowed only one goal against USF and MSU.
- Catheryn Hudak scored the game winning goal against USF.
