The Celtics star’s 2,964-square-foot penthouse exudes luxury, but the ultimate highlight is the 400-square-foot roof deck, accessed via a spiral staircase.
You’re used to hearing the announcers yell “JB for 3.” But this time, it’s JB for $4,750,000.
Jaylen Brown, beloved Celtics star, MVP, and sartorial superstar, just listed his penthouse: PH501 at 49 Melcher St. The three-bedroom, 2.5-bath Fort Point home boasts an industrial vibe, a nod to its former life as a factory, and features an open layout. It offers corner exposure with natural lighting streaming in from Melcher and Necco streets in the building containing the popular restaurant Mooo…. Seaport.
“It’s the MVP of town houses. It really is,” said George Sarkis, who shares the listing with Manny Sarkis of The Sarkis Team at Douglas Elliman. “It’s obviously a really cool unit in a really cool space.”
Step inside to the main living space, which features exposed brick walls, oversized factory windows, and a 12-plus-foot ceiling with the original wood beams. The open space continues to the left, to the dining area, which currently holds a table for eight but could accommodate one even more substantial. The elegant kitchen features top-of-the-line appliances and an expansive island.
“The open concept, the feel of it, the brick and beam,” Sarkis said. “To see this at about a 3,000-square-foot-scale is very hard to come by. Having one of Boston’s steakhouses in the building is a big bonus.”
The luxurious primary suite has a walk-in closet and a bathroom with a double vanity and a walk-in shower. The unit comes with a washer and dryer.
The estimated condo fee is $1,842.42, according to the listing, and there’s an additional studio for sale on the same floor.

As for Brown’s time in the unit, Sarkis said the baller loved both the proximity to the highway for heading to practice and the accessibility of the restaurant downstairs. He also appreciated the building’s quiet location.
“He just loved being in a low-key building. He loved it. He’s in and out. He would go in there and have dinner, have friends over,” Sarkis said. “It was close to everything, but far enough away.”
Of course, Sarkis couldn’t discuss where Jaylen Brown will be continuing his real estate journey, but made it clear that the star isn’t going anywhere too far.
“He will still be a Boston Celtic,” Sarkis said.
