What is the biggest perk of working at technology major Google in Bengaluru? The answers are sure to vary. For IIT-Delhi alumnus Priyansh Agarwal, it is the free cab service that the search giant offers. The software engineer shared the same in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Google provides cab service between office and home. It is one of the biggest perks in Bangalore.I live 12km away from office and I never have to wait for an uber/ola/rapido. It helps me save a lot of money too xD,” he wrote. “PS: wrote this while going to office in GCab,” added Priyansh. For those wondering what GCab means here, it refers to the vehicles that Google provides its employees.
Priyansh clarified that his post in no way means that Google is the only company in the city offering this ‘big perk’, just that none of his previous employers offered this benefit.
“Of course other companies do that too. Since the companies that I have worked at previously didn’t provide this, it is new for me. This tweet in no way means that other companies don’t provide a similar service 🤡,” he wrote in a follow-up post.
While it is not clear where all Priyansh has worked before, as per his bio on X, he has previously worked with Zomato and Goldman Sachs. It is also not sure if he had worked in these companies in Bengaluru or some other city in the state or in the country.

The tweet also may not come as a surprise to many considering the tough commute that the city is known for.
