How to score a deal on your new iPad mini pre-order

Let’s talk about how to get a deal on the new iPad mini. The new Apple iPad mini 7 has now arrived with pre-orders kicking off today. Packed with the A17 Pro chip, an Apple Pencil Pro-ready design, and support for Apple Intelligence, pre-orders are now live and we are here to help you score a deal. As of right now, early listings are starting to go live at Apple and major retailers, which means there’s a chance to save hundreds with trade-ins. Today we are going to take a look at some options courtesy of Best Buy that can net you up to $260 off the $499 MSRP on the new 7th generation mini, and that’s just with a previous-generation iPad mini 6. How to score a deal on the new iPad mini

As we detailed previously on new Apple releases, like the AirPods 4 and Apple Watch Series 10, if you have gear to trade-in, like a previous-generation device, there’s loads of cash to be saved. You’ll always want to check the trade-in value Apple will offer you, but Best Buy tends to be quite aggressive with the value it offers to folks looking to bump up from previous models to the new generation releases and the new iPad mini 7 its no exception. 

Obviously the original price and release date on the gear you’re trading in will directly effect the value you can get against the new miniature tablet, but we will take a look at a few (realistic) options here. A good example here is the previous iPad mini 6 – Best Buy will offer you $260 off the iPad mini 7 with the base 64GB 6th gen. 

Here’s what you need to do to make it happen:

1. Navigate to the iPad mini 7 listing, and add the configuration you want to your cart.
2. Then navigate to your cart, and hit the “Check Trade-In Value” button.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions – hit Apple and iPad mini 6th generation in the appropriate menus
4. And then hit the “Search” button at the bottom and select your gear to trade-in from the results, and then “Add it to Cart”
5. If it was an iPad mini 6, choose “No” and “Good” condition in the two options presented.
6. Then hit Add to cart to start the checkout process
7. This will then load up your cart with both the new iPad mini 7 and the trade-in gear – if you chose the iPad mini 6 64GB, your effective price on the new tablet will drop from $499 to $239.
