Disney announced its collaboration with Fortnite during its annual D23 ultimate fan event and suggested Fortnite players should prepare for a new season filled with absolute doom.
Chapter 5, Season 4 will include brand new Marvel skins like Gwenpool, War Machine, Mysterio, Emma Frost, Peelverine and more. Plus, players should expect special Disney-inspired quests and clues about future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies and shows.
“This marks Disney’s biggest entry ever into the world of video games and offers significant opportunities for growth and expansion,” said Bob Iger, Disney CEO in an article from forbes.com. “… Players, gamers, and fans will be able to create their own stories and experiences, express their fandom in a distinctly Disney way, and share content with each other in ways that they love.”

Fortnite’s upcoming season is titled “Absolute Doom” and features a new Battle Pass that’s jam-packed with MCU and X-Men skins.

This doesn’t come as a surprise with “Deadpool & Wolverine” being the big Marvel summer blockbuster and Disney announcing a special Fortnite collaboration during their annual D23 ultimate fan event on Aug. 10.
However, superheroes — and villains — won’t be the only ones in the mix. Expect to see characters from Star Wars, Pixar and anything else the House of Mouse has in their catalogue.
Players shouldn’t just expect skins either, keep a sharp eye out for any quests and clues along the way that may or may not give hints about the MCU’s future.
Is Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 out?
Season 3 will end on Thursday, Aug. 15, at 8 p.m. Arizona time.
Players will have about 4-6 hours of “downtime” for the game to reboot and for backend maintenance to prepare for the new season.
Chapter 5, Season 4 is titled “Absolute Doom” and will launch on Friday, Aug. 16.
What time does Fortnite season 4 start?
There isn’t a confirmed start time for Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4.
All we know is that the mandatory “downtime” will begin at 8 p.m. Arizona time after the end of season 3 and will take about 5-6 hours to complete ahead of the new season.
According to comicbook.com, Epic will begin pushing out the Season 4 content to servers for players to download and they should expect this next patch to be “larger than usual.”
