Please note this article covers disturbing content.
Game Freak — the primary developer of the Pokémon games — suffered a massive data breach.
Pokémon creator, Nintendo, confirmed this leak on Sunday, which involved not only a massive amount of personal information, but supposed unused concept art and lore stories involving the franchise.
Some of these never-before-seen stories being a bit disturbing in nature, to put it mildly.
Forbes reports how this purportedly unused lore involves Pokémon such as Typhlosion having relationships with humans. With Typhlosion specifically engaging in a relationship with — and having a child with — a young girl.
Another one of these stories — as posted to a subreddit dedicated to Pokémon leaks — involves a man having relations with the octopus Pokémon, Octillery. This fling, too, results in a half-Pokémon, half-human hybrid.
The same Forbes article states how it is unknown who exactly wrote these stories, or why they were included in the files that were released.
According to Nintendo Life, a third party gained unauthorized access to the Game Freak server earlier in the year. This bad actor was able to obtain the names and email addresses of both current and former employees, as well as other personal information.
Nintendo Life adds that source code, new games, past projects, and even beta Pokémon designs were taken and made public as well.
IGN states how Game. Freak has apologized to everyone who was affected by the data breach. They also confirmed that the vulnerability which led to the leak has since been fixed.
This a developing story.
