Ana Bastos led all players with 15 kills in what was another dominating performance for the sophomore. Mariana Leite contributed 11 kills in what was a season-high effort for her.
The Warriors led for most of the first set and led by as many as six. But with the score at 19-14 in favor of the hosts, Berry went on a 6-0 run to take a 20-19 lead. It was a lead they would not relinquish for the rest of the set.
The two sides traded points to open the second set. After Berry cut Hendrix’s lead to 12-11, the Warriors went on a 5-0 run for a commanding 17-11 lead. Berry fended off three set points, but Camryn Kennedy’s kill gave the Warriors the second set to tie the match at 1-1.
But the Vikings were able to see of the two following sets to clinch the match and hand the Warriors their third loss in league play.
Hendrix (8-11, 2-4 SAA) will remain at home and host Oglethorpe tomorrow afternoon at Grove Gymnasium.
