ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Legendary Atlanta comedian and radio personality Wanda Smith has died at 58, according to fellow radio personality Darian “Big Tigger” Morgan.
The Miami native made her name in Atlanta, co-hosting the radio show Frank and Wanda in the Morning with Frank Ski from 1998 to 2012. Ryan Cameron replaced Ski as co-host in 2014 before Ski rejoined the show in 2018.
Smith is perhaps most famous for being on the other end on an explosive interview with comedian Katt Williams in 2018. Williams had already taken shots at several other comedians before turning on Williams after insulting her interview style.
The feud lasted beyond the interview; Smith’s husband LaMorris Sellers allegedly confronted Williams with a gun later outside the Atlanta Comedy Theater. Williams did not press charges against Sellers.
Smith appeared in multiple films in the Madea franchise and wrote for Def Comedy Jam.
