
HYDERABAD: A 45-year-old real estate businessman was stabbed to death in full public view at HB Colony in Moulali on Friday. The deceased was identified as Srikanth Reddy, a resident of HB Colony. According to police officials, the main accused, Dhanraj of Lalapet, had worked for Srikanth until recently. “Dhanraj used to come to work in an inebriated condition and caused problems for Srikanth Reddy. Unable to tolerate his behaviour, Srikanth removed him from work about 20 days ago,” Kushaiguda ACP Y Venkat Reddy said.
Despite being dismissed, Dhanraj continued visiting Srikanth’s office in HB Colony, repeatedly pestering him for re-employment. On Friday afternoon, Dhanraj, accompanied by a friend Daniel, met Srikanth at his office and took Rs 1,200 from him to buy liquor.

After consuming alcohol, the duo returned to Srikanth’s office at around 5.30 pm. Dhanraj again demanded a job, but Srikanth asked him to come back on Tuesday. When Dhanraj persisted, Srikanth decided to leave the office. As he walked out, Dhanraj and Daniel followed him. “They suddenly attacked Srikanth with a knife. On Dhanraj’s instructions, Daniel stabbed Srikanth to death in the lane in front of his office,” the ACP said.Following the attack, the duo fled the spot. Alerted by the locals, Kushaiguda police rushed to the scene and shifted the body for postmortem. A case was registered under section 103(1) (murder) of the BNS. A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
