Eminem is back. The Detroit legend reasserted his status as a titan in the rap game with his The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) album on Friday (July 12).

The Grammy-winning rhymer loaded up his 12th studio album — and first since 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By — with 19 songs and a pair of bonus tracks.

Prior to the LP’s arrival, Em urged fans to listen to the tracks in the order he sequenced since it’s a “conceptual album.”

“Public service announcement: the ‘death of slim shady’ is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense,” he wrote. “Enjoy.”

Em kept some tricks up his sleeve when he left the special guests off the tracklist, but there was plenty of help from the likes of Jelly Roll, J.I.D, Skylar Grey, Big Sean, BabyTron and more.

From poignant letters to his children to dissing Diddy across multiple tracks, Em goes from diabolical madman to reflective father in a matter of seconds.

Eminem could be looking at his 11th consecutive solo LP atop the Billboard 200 when the tallies come in next week. He kicked off The Death of Slim Shady rollout in May with “Houdini,” which landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for his highest charting entry of the decade. He followed-up with “Tobey” featuring Big Sean and BabyTron earlier in July, which debuted at No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100.

White Gold

Songs: “Habits,” “Bad One”

White Gold has been part of the Shady family for years, with collabs alongside Em and Royce D 5’9″. He notches a pair of appearances helming chorus duties on “Habits” and “Bad One.”
Sly Pyper

Songs: “Lucifer,” “Road Rage”

Sly Pyper is a producer signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. In addition to co-producing on the album, Sly contributes vocally on a pair of tracks while introducing “Road Rage.”

Bizarre

Song: “Antichrist”

Bizarre and Eminem reunite like it’s the D-12 days. Biz takes the baton from Slim after he sprays on the competition and closes out “Antichrist” with a verse headlined by ludicrously asking to suck on Megan Thee Stallion’s toes.

J.I.D

Song Title: “Fuel”

J.I.D made a standout appearance while sparring with Eminem on “Fuel.” The Dreamville rapper kicks off the collab and pushes Em’s pen when he steps into the friendly battle. “I’m f–king honored !! Thank you @eminem u are truly legendary,” J.I.D wrote on Instagram following The Death of Slim Shady collab’s arrival.

Ez Mil

Song: “Head Honcho”

Hailing from the Philippines, Ez Mil signed a joint venture deal with Shady Records, Aftermath and Interscope. The 25-year-old makes his presence felt with fiery assist on “Head Honcho.”
Skylar Grey

Song: “Temporary”

From “I Need a Doctor” to “Walk on Water,” Skylar Grey has been a frequent collaborator on Eminem’s projects throughout his decorated career. Their new collab breaks up the monotony of TDOSS and delivers one of the album’s most poignant moments.

Big Sean

Song: “Tobey”

Big Sean notched his fourth Eminem collaboration on “Tobey,” which joins different generations of Detroit with the emerging BabyTron also in the fold. Sean Don previously connected with Slim Shady on tracks such as I Decided’s “No Favors,” Detroit 2‘s “Friday Night Cypher” and ShadyXV‘s “Detroit Vs. Everybody.”

BabyTron

Song: “Tobey”

What started out as a solo BabyTron song ended up as a star-studded collaboration celebrating Detroit roots with Eminem and Big Sean. Em loved it so much he took it as a single for his own album. The sky is the limit for BabyTron with an Em feature at 24 years old.

Jelly Roll

Song: “Somebody Save Me”

Jelly Roll checked an item of his music bucket list when collaborating with Eminem for the emotional album closer “Somebody Save Me.” Em pours his heart out and vulnerably opens up about his regrets as a parent while Jelly’s “Save Me” hit is sampled and flipped into a heavenly chorus. \

2 Chainz

Song: “Kyrie & Luka” (bonus track)

Em and 2 Chainz compare themselves to Dallas Mavericks superstar backcourt running mates Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic on the track available only to those who pre-ordered the album. Chainz keeps the basketball theme going with a shout-out to New York Knicks bruiser Julius Randle. “Gunshots is truly Atlanta/ While things are goin’ left like Julius Randle,” he raps in a nod to No. 30. The Drench God previously teamed up with Em on the “Chloraseptic (Remix)” in 2018.
