Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl revealed on Tuesday that he has fathered a baby girl outside of his marriage to his wife, Jordyn Blum.
Grohl, 55, shared the news on Sept. 10 in a short Instagram post.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Grohl turned off the ability to comment on the post.
The former Nirvana drummer has been married to Blum since 2003. He and the former model, producer and director have three daughters together: Violet Maye Grohl, 18, Harper Willow Grohl, 15, and Ophelia Saint Grohl, 10. Grohl was previously married to Jennifer Youngblood from 1994 to 1997.
He rarely comments about his relationship with Blum, although the two often make public appearances together.

Blum thought she’d ‘never’ hear from Grohl again after they started dating
When speaking about the early days of his romance with Blum, Grohl revealed the two weren’t exactly head over heels for each other at first.
He opened up about the beginning of their relationship in a 2007 Elle interview.
“When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling,” he recalled. “After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.’”
He also revealed what he thought his wife would say is her biggest pet peeve about him.
“The fact that I’m virtually deaf,” Grohl said. “Any woman who’s going to date a rock musician has to be prepared to repeat herself every 10 seconds.
“My wife asks me where we should go for dinner and it sounds like the schoolteacher from Charlie Brown,” he said.
Blum inspired a few Foo Fighters songs and worked with the band on their music videos
Grohl spoke over the years about how his wife has inspired some Foo Fighters tracks. While chatting with The A.V. Club in 2006, he was asked if the group had any songs that made him “cringe.”
The rocker mentioned the band’s fourth studio album, “One By One,” which includes the song “Burn Away.”
“Well, the record ‘One By One,’ there’s some questionable s— on that,” he replied. “A song like ‘Burn Away,’ I was in love with my future wife and had some romantic f—ing prom ballad.
“Ugh! We’d never play that f—ing s— live.”
Grohl told GQ in 2008 that he wrote another Foo Fighters track, “Statues” from the album “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace,” about Blum.
“That song is about my wife and me. To me there’s nothing more beautiful than seeing the headstones of a husband and wife side by side in a graveyard,” he said.
Blum also has a connection to the band’s 2011 single “White Limo.” She appears in the song’s music video, casually flipping her hair and posing as the group rocks out behind her.
Blum and Grohl have made appearances together at star-studded events
Grohl walked the red carpet at the 2023 Grammys with Blum and their three daughters by his side, marking a rare public appearance for the family of five.
He wore an all-black ensemble while Blum donned an off-the-shoulder black and white mini dress. Oldest daughter Violet Maye Grohl, who is a singer like her dad, posed for pictures in a black jacket, T-shirt, skort and knee-high boots. Harper Willow Grohl wore a pink floral gown and Ophelia Saint Grohl wore a pink, blue and purple flowy dress.
In July, Grohl and Blum dressed up to watch the men’s championship match at Wimbledon. He slicked his hair back and wore a black suit with an orange tie while Blum wore a blue button-down dress.
