AGRA: The principal of a primary school in Aligarh was suspended after students were found preparing rotis for mid-day meals on its premises. A purported video showing 4-5 girl students (6-12 years) being made to work in the kitchen surfaofficer ced online. Action was taken after the matter was probed on Basic Shiksha Adhikari‘s (BSA) instructions.
BSA (Aligarh) Rakesh Kumar Yadav said on Sunday, “The matter came to our notice after a video of a primary school in Roravar under Lodha development block of Aligarh district was widely circulated. Basic Education Officer (BEO) Ram Shankar Kureel was asked to probe the matter, and a three-member committee headed by him found the principal, Munawwar Jahan, guilty of negligence. She has been suspended.”
Elsewhere, principal, Mohammad Imran, was suspended on allegations of “mercilessly beating” a Class 6 student at a composite school in Ramgarh in Aligarh district. The incident drew the ire of locals, who created a ruckus at the school.
Village head Bablu Baghel complained to BEO about the principal’s behaviour and the student confirmed the incident. Following investigation, BSA suspended the principal after “he failed to provide any response to the notice served against him”.
Last month, a female teacher at a primary school was suspended by BSA for “irresponsible behaviour”, days after two videos of her with students (5-10 age group) were circulated. In the first video, the teacher, Dimple Bansal, could be seen lying and purportedly taking a nap during a class with a few students fanning her. In another video, she could be seen caning some students with a stick.
