Football is back at Highmark Stadium, as the Bills (0-1) fell to the Bears (2-0) 33-6 in their preseason opener.
QB Mitchell Trubisky led the offense, throwing for 82 yards, completing 10 of 18 attempts, while adding 12 rushing yards. WR Khalil Shakir led all Bills receivers with three catches for 28 yards.
Inactives included WR Mack Hollins, WR Justin Shorter, WR Chase Claypool, RB Ty Johnson, DT DaQuan Jones, S Cole Bishop, S Mike Edwards, EDGE Von Miller, LB Nick Morrow, LB Edefuan Ulofoshio, EDGE Casey Toohill, and LB Matt Milano.
The Bears offense started the game marching down the field after a 42-yard completion from rookie QB Caleb Williams to RB D’Andre Swift brought them into the red zone. Bills fans erupted though when CB Rasul Douglas made a big stop on third down to force the Bears to take a 30-yard field goal that brought the game to an early 3-0 lead for the Bears to start.
After an initial three-and-out from the Bills offense, P Sam Martin pinned the Bears offense at their own three-yard line. The defense stood strong as they were able to force a second consecutive field goal from the Williams and the Bears offense.
