NEW DELHI: The Pune police, investigating the Porsche car accident case, have generated a comprehensive crash impact analysis report with the help of an Army forensic expert.
The report’s purpose is to establish a connection between the Porsche car’s impact on the bike and the injuries suffered by the two deceased IT professionals. Police consider this report vital in determining the accused’s role in the incident.
On May 19, the Porsche car, purportedly driven by a juvenile under the influence of alcohol, collided with a bike in Pune city’s Kalyani Nagar area, resulting in the deaths of Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both IT professionals.
According to a crime branch officer, “We have obtained the report of crash impact analysis of the accident. The analysis has provided valuable insights into the positioning of the vehicles at the time of impact and the injuries sustained by the deceased. The report will be instrumental in understanding the sequence of events leading to the tragic accident.”
Initially, the police intended to employ AI-based tools and software for digitally reconstructing the accident scene. The goal was to create a detailed visualization of the crime scene to improve evidence appreciation and reconstruct the events preceding the accident.
The juvenile driver is currently in an observation home, while the parents remain in police custody in relation to the alleged blood sample swapping case. Previously, the Pune District Court remanded the father and grandfather of the minor accused to police custody until May 31.
