Infosys has reportedly adopted a new hiring approach. The IT company no longer issues job offers and attachments over email to new recruits. Instead, it now requires candidates both freshers and experienced hires, to log into the company’s internal system to access their job application details, reports ET.
Citing people familiar with the issue, the report says that with this, ‘Infosys is seeking to not just prevent fraudulent recruitment practices, but also provide a better hiring experience to candidates, prevent defrauding of gullible candidates and make the system paperless.’
When visiting the Infosys’ career website, users will now see a ticket that reads: “Important notice-Infosys offer letter and associated documents are available only on our career site.Candidates can access this using their login credentials. We don’t send emails with attached offer letters to our candidates anymore. You can always validate your offer letter when in doubt by following this link – https://career.infosys.com/offerValidation”.
The change, the report says is aimed to prevent fraudulent recruitment practices, to enhance the hiring experience, to protect candidates from scams, and to make the process paperless. The move comes amid broader controversies in the Indian software industry regarding delayed onboarding of freshers. Infosys’ recruitment vendors, speaking anonymously to the publication, suggest that this approach will help curb recruitment fraud and make it more challenging for candidates to compare offers with rival employers.
This new approach in hiring also aligns with Infosys’ sustainability plans and workplace transformation efforts. Infosys stated in its ESG report for FY24: “Our new design focuses on health and wellbeing, productivity, social connect and inclusiveness, while also ensuring environmental sustainability. We are deeply committed to being a well-governed, environmentally sustainable organisation where diverse talent thrives in an inclusive workplace,” it said.
