SHREWSBURY – Calling all Taylor Swift fans, and all those who want to make a difference in the lives of local women.
Pawsitively 4 Pink — a Worcester-based organization that seeks to uplift low-income women burdened by breast cancer — is holding a fundraising concert at SAC Park on Oct. 5 from 4 to 9 p.m., rain or shine. The event will feature Taylor Nation, a Taylor Swift tribute band that will perform hours of music from every one of Swift’s eras.
Attendees are sure to have an excellent time singing and trading friendship bracelets, but the event is made more special considering each ticket purchased will benefit in-need women in the local area.
Founded in 2018 by Michelle Power, who has had several family members affected by breast cancer, Pawsitively 4 Pink has raised over $790,000 to help support low-income families hampered by the disease. Oftentimes, when diagnosed, women are bombarded with bills, which are especially difficult to pay when treatment can take someone out of the workforce for a significant amount of time.
Pawsitively 4 Pink is able to help defray some of the financial burden, oftentimes helping women pay mortgages.

“Unfortunately we still live in a time where people do judge people as lazy, and nobody wants to have those labels on them. In fact, many of the women we work with aren’t in that position at all. It’s not about being lazy. It’s about a diagnosis that puts them in this situation,” said Power. “For me, it’s a very humbling experience, to be honest. When I was younger, I grew up low-income, and there were several people throughout my life who showed me grace and comfort. For me, it’s nice to be able to give that back to women.”
“We’re both very compassionate, community-focused and caring people. Not only is this something Michelle has a passion for, but we both have a passion for helping people, and we continue to do it in numerous ways. We care for the people of our community,” said Kathy Chapman, the president of the organization and Power’s wife of 20 years.
Gates will open at 3 p.m., and an opening act by Whitney Doucet is scheduled for 4 p.m. Food and beverage will be available.
“I think it’s a family-friendly, affordable event that, in turn, supports your local community and the women in it. We’re making a difference, and we’re asking people to help us make that difference,” said Chapman.
