Denny Hamlin is on the pole for Sunday’s Cook Out 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway.
Hamlin was the slowest of the 10 cars that advanced to the second round of Saturday’s qualifying session but put up a lap that proved difficult to beat as most fell off by multiple tenths of a second compared to the first round.
The Cup Series returns from an Olympic break, off since the July 21 race at Indianapolis won by Kyle Larson.
There are four races remaining in the regular season heading into Sunday’s race at Richmond.
Here’s the full starting lineup for Sunday’s Cook Out 400.
