Diaper drive donation boxes pop up for drop offs

Mt. Pleasant Rotary hosts a monthlong Diaper Drive in September for The Family Connection of Henry County

You may notice multiple diaper drop off boxes at locations spread around Henry County throughout the month of September. The Rotary Clubs of Mt. Pleasant are partnering together to host a diaper drive for The Family Connection in Henry County.

Individuals, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to participate by dropping off packages of diapers, specifically sizes 3, 4, 5, and 6, at any of the locations accepting donations now through Sept. 30th. Those drop off locations include American Family Insurance — M.A. Hamilton, Central Park Coffee Company, Five Star Community Credit Union, the Henry County Courthouse, the Mt. Pleasant Public Library, People’s Bank Wayland, Pilot Grove Savings Bank — both Mt. Pleasant locations, and Your Choice Restaurant Wayland.

Mt. Pleasant Rotary also will be hosting diaper collection days at the Hy-Vee in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, Sept. 21 and again on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9-11 a.m. All diapers donated will be given to The Family Connection to stock their “Parents Place” — a store participants can redeem points for diapers, wipes, and other basic baby supplies.

More About The Family Connection

The Family Connection believes parents are a child’s first and most influential teacher. Therefore, they provide guidance and support to families and parents by offering private meetings and home visits with families, parenting classes, play groups and family activities to any Henry County resident with children prenatal to age five. By participating in The Family Connection’s various programs, parents can earn points to use toward incentives such as diapers, wipes, laundry detergent and other basic baby supplies.
