Neeraj Chopra, the ‘golden boy’ of India, won his second Olympic medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics. Chopra settled for silver as Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem claimed the top spot with a new Olympic record in the men’s javelin final. “Aaj Arshad ka din tha (Today was Arshad’s day). I gave my best, but there are areas that need improvement,” said Neeraj after winning the medal.
Mahindra Group chairman, Anand Mahindra also congratulated Neeraj on his big win and posted about the same on X (formerly known as Twitter).In the post, Mahindra expressed his devastation at Neeraj’s near miss. However, Mahindra emphasised that Chopra remains a hero worthy of gold due to his humility and consistent efforts. Mahindra praised Neeraj’s reliability, predictability, and consistent performance, highlighting these qualities as hallmarks of a great sportsperson.

Neeraj Chopra’s performance at Paris Olympics
As mentioned above, Neeraj Chopra secured his second consecutive Olympic medal by winning a Silver at the Paris Olympics. Neeraj Chopra’s best throw of 89.45 meters, a season’s best, came in his second attempt, securing his Silver Olympic medal. Pakistan’s Arshad came up with a record Olympic throw of 92.97 metres in his second attempt. With his silver, Neeraj became the first Indian track-and-field athlete to win two Olympic medals.
“We all feel happy whenever we win a medal for the country. It’s time to improve the game now. We will sit, discuss, and enhance our performance. India performed well at the Paris Olympics, and the competition was strong. Our national anthem may not have been played today, but it will definitely be played somewhere in the future. If not in Paris, then elsewhere,” said Neeraj after winning the Silver medal.
